As a small business owner in a town with a low cost of living and luckily in a red state instead of an insane blue state, up to date I don't have to deal with the government imposing some insane minimum wage. In the event that this would happen, prices would go up and I'd likely cut the staff to make this work. I'm quite happy that the California's & Washington's are going to do this first, let them deal with the wreckage this will cause. The "Minimum Wage" was never meant to be a "Living Wage" but DL criticizes the way things were in the 20th century as if they were backwards.
Sure DL, the country had a manufacturing base for blue collar workers that made everything. In your new century the country makes next to nothing and state governments feel the need to raise the "minimum wage" because so many people are trying to live on it. Nearly no one made the minimum wage in the 70's & 80's, it was merely an entry level wage, I started at $2.35 an hour and there was no national movements to raise it to $8 (it would've been insane then as it is today). Hurray for Evolution!
Sorry I guess I don't see things through an emotional or partisan lens. I never said 20th century was backwards lol. It's funny how you make these untrue claims because that's how feel emotionally.
Keep talking about the 20th century. It only further proves my point.
Like I said this will favor the strong, the people and businesses that are intelligent, innovative, cost efficient, utilize technology and less dependent on workers.
This is simply blockbuster (20th century) vs redbox (21st century)
And the blockbuster people and businesses are completely terrified of the redbox people and businesses taking over. Then add in Netflix to the market and now the game is completely changed because of intelligence, innovation, technology, and less dependence on workers or even a physical site for people to waste their time going to to pick up their DVDs when they could just press play on Netflix.
Seems like the consumer benefits too from the innovation and convenience. And remember I'm not saying this is a good thing or a bad thing. I just don't view the world through an emotional lens or even worse a political and partisan lens.
That often leads to cart before horse arguments where the view is prescribed to you by your emotions or partisan rhetoric (left/right, red/blue). And then people try to find reasons to support their prescribed view or worse yet make numbers and things up.

Double? Where are you getting these numbers from? Sure eventually prices will double at some point due to inflation but to same that minimum wage increase will automatically result in prices doubling sounds like you're just making up figures.
Why not say prices will triple or quadruple while you are just making up numbers.
Also to say that unemployment will increase is another prediction but it's just that a prediction. Along with poverty increasing and crime. Why not just say disease will increase too and hospitals will close and chaos will ensue and martial law will be imposed as society completely crumbles.
Sounds like a lot of scare tactics but like I said the weak who can't evolve, innovate, adapt are absolutely terrified. And these tails of ruin and makeup numbers seem pretty symptomatic of the fear that the weak have
No you are wrong. Inflation happens directly because of government. No way to deny this. No way to add the it or distort or spin. Inflation is a direct act of government. The following document and supsquent acti9n are derived with the last doubling of minimum wage under Carter. Cars became unaffordable a 2000 dollar gto in 1970 became a 10000 Delta 88 by 1980 a 10 cent candy bar became a 25. Cent per bar plus tax by 1980 a 40 g raised ranch went from 30 g to 80 g why because minimum wage went from 1.50 to 3.00 as wage increases so does the cost of living. As does every consumable items that are available a store. It's wayy ITIS and the sad fact the Dems know what will happen and bank on it.

The democ atic party will quickly spin you are poor cause so in so is rich as they did innazi Germany. They want tobe the champion for the poor why it keeps them in power. They will bankrupt California by 2024 it go back to a deficit debt induced budget and they will spin anew tale of economic down turn. Ect.... But reality they create the weather and then blame you because it rains.... Seen enough of these ways to realize they keep you feeling poor because they need you to believe that they have your back.

when I say inflation will happen no matter what, I mean no matter if min wage increases or not. And to attribute just minimum wage to overall inflation seems conveniently reductionistic for s cart before horse argument.
Im sorry but I just don't view the world through the same emotional
And partisan based (democrat/republican) lens that you do. Like I said earlier this often leads to cart before horse arguments based on the feelings or prescribed rhetoric of the left/right rhetoric you believe in.
Like I also said before, I am not saying that min wage increase will no effect. I'm saying there will be one, but I am just attaching emotion to it. Nor am I making up numbers of double, triple or quadrupling prices to try to prove a prescribed view.
It's interesting to me that my point that those with an emotional and Partisan based view keep Refering and relying upon 20th century events to basing their points. It only further confirms my point about blockbuster (stuck in 20th century) Vs. Redbox (21st century reality)
you can really see the fear and panic of the weak.

Well now they have no company to descend manufacturers moved over seas the ones who actually build something. So your Union moved to. Government and public sectors. With tanure the destroyed education through new. With collective bargaining they. Destroy any state budget through their own policies the make a have and have not scale through affirmative action a kid with lower scores on taste and grades will be accepted in college because he has the right skin color black is the new white when it comes to havard..... The Democratic party is responsible.. But they will soon point out economy is to blame or poor beha ior from conservatives or income disparity. Obama is a millionaire Clinton and her families foundations easily make them billionaires but I guess it's not their fortunes we should be looking at.....

Simple more unemployment and more citizens will be worse off with a minimum wage increase and no subsequent cost control measures. It ain't rocket science kid. And the 65 year old wisemen mentality of the party leaders can easily lead you sheep to a pasture of sand. They banking on it for th next scenario of the 2020 census where they can really put in the geremandering of districts inn place.

20th century vs 21 St century tome I am so darn old at this point it's all the same millennium. I read many frames of what is wrong Chaucer spoke of this in 1000 my ppl wrote a book Doomsday . Pope made knights Templars enemy of God and we damned the Catholic Church food eternity such is life. Isis is destroying any artifact or relic not muslem just as the Jesuits didmback in 1500's because it wasn't Christian enough. It the same darn story
Same lies same spin same stupidity so whether it's 1999 or 2016 tome and my kind it's same old same old. 15.00 us dollars a week provides clothing food medicine and shelter for 90% of the citizens of this planet. Why would 155 an hour be needed to provide same time xistance here in America . our costs are to high.

I stopped reading at the part where you said that my theory was that min wage increase was good for America.
I never said.
It seems like my non-emotional and non-partisan based view is too much for some. I've said over and over again that I don't think min wage increase is a good thing or a bad thing. It's simply not an emotional issue for me or one that my partisan view dictates my belief.
That's why an incorrect view has to be assigned me to then argue against in mutiple posts. But I guess that's what happens when someone canr debate my points. Because if they could, they wouldn't need to manufacture fiction.
I stopped reading as soon as the lie was told and the "white flag" was raised conceding that view points could not debated and a fictitious one would have to be created for him to have a response.

Sort of like construction workers over here, English builders charge the going rate whilst taking forever, Whilst going for cigarette breaks every 10 minutes and whilst listening to sports talk radio and drinking cups of tea every hour as opposed to the Polish or Czech builder who wants cash in hand but charges significantly less and gets the job done within a 4/5 days without the cigarette breaks etc.
The question that should be asked is why do these people deserve an increased minimum wage? The reason these f-ckers are working for minimum wage is because they have nothing to offer and are not dedicated, Rewarding those sorts of people makes no sense, They should thank their lucky stars they even have a job.
