Heve to feel sort of concerned for the man.

Detox doesn't realize guns are also used in self defense when someone else is trying to kill you.
Maybe Detox you should take a look at what happened in Australia when they disarmed the citizens.

According to The WP..South Carolina is one of 40 states that do not require background checks for private gun transactions ....a private sale loophole.
Wow, didn't know that. So wouldn't the private buyer have to register the gun and then thumb print a DOJ check? Seems like a simple way for a felon to buy a gun.

....I'm guessing the private buyer is required by law to complete the ownership transfer on his/her own, which would mean visiting an FFL dealer and filling out paper work. Makes sense considering ownership of an unregistered firearm is a felony..

Latest up-date :
It looks like the transaction was subject to a background check, to no effect... the gun used in the attack was purchased in April at a gun shop .
It's being reported that Joe Roof, his grandfather, said Roof was given "birthday money" and that the family didn't know what he did with it....Roof turned 21 in April, and a short time later He had a gun.
Investigators did a trace of the handgun used in the shooting and determined that it was a .45-caliber handgun Roof purchased from a Charleston gun store in April...it looks like,, if the existing laws are not enforced passing one more law would not have prevented him from getting a gun.
The gun Roof was Glock .45-caliber model 41, which holds 13 rounds...Witnesses say Roof reloaded five times...My Lord !!! what is that 78 bullets..don't tell me an armed church goer wouldn't have been able to stop him ( or slow him down) on one of the earlier reloads..

As much as we don't like each other, I agree 100% with this. Guns kill, simply put, cut and dry. Uneducated, poorly if no training at all owners are lurking everywhere, and they are a menace to themselves and others when holding.
My belief in the mandatory ownership of a gun at this point in time is because, in essence, every person out there is strapped, and you have to consider a good portion of them are untrained and uneducated on gun control, safety and awareness. Average response time by police can stretch from 2-9 minutes, so you have to be responsible for your own life in such situations when you are face to face with an armed person seeking to harm you or family. This is where proper training and education comes into play, MOSTLY to understand when the threat is credible and how to properly respond.
The flipside is more people than not don't take the proper channels to own and carry a gun, and these are the majority using the guns. So even in the event that they are trying to protect themselves, they don't have the mental ability, wherewithal or whatever other reason to not act the right way, causing harm to an innocent person, themselves or whatever.
BUT, either way, a person that takes the proper channels, goes the furthest extent to learn safety and gun control to where they are confident enough to carry the weapon, NEEDS to own a gun in 2015.

Ya if a black kid murdered 12 old innocent white churchgoers, we'd probably be struggling to read about it in a blurb between the classifieds and the hooker "massage" ads on page 15T.
You sure that wasn't your son that was responsible for this, Slovak? I can see where he gets all that hate from.
