This one might cause the First Muslim to publicly take a harder turn on ISIS.  He has been wrong for a couple years now... he is a bit of a slow learner.

4 dead marines and one dead dirtbag - they are winning.

sick of this story... the names and the places change but its a bit like groundhog day.  I'm just glad he was shot dead and we don't have to give a crap about his stupid trial, and how the feds want to classify the act.  He is dead.

How and why is there a gun free zone for our military?

DOD needs to update this policy like yesterday.

Donald Trump:

"Gun free zones ..  No, not optional. As Commander-in-Chief, I would mandate that soldiers remain armed and on alert at our military bases."

" Theyt left highly-trained gun operators without a weapon to fire at attackers, with the exception of military police. "

"Gun control does not reduce crime. It has consistently failed to stop violence. Americans are entitled to protect their families, their property and themselves. In fact, in right-to-carry states the violent crime rate is 24 percent lower than the rest of the United States and the murder rate is 28 percent lower. This should not be up for debate."

Yes Slim - the situation is truly unreal.  And I am tired the debate on "gun control"  it is simply ridiculous

I as a private citizen can carry a 9mm in a holster under my shirt in that attack zone - or I can open carry ( I do not suggest this).  But if the decorated veteran with two purple hearts is bearing a sidearm in uniform in the same space, he would receive disciplinary action.

WTF?

Obamas statement on the occasion of Eid-ul-Firt ( marks the end of Ramadan )

"Michelle and I would like to extend our warmest wishes to Muslims in the United States and around the world celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr. As Muslims mark the end of the month, they are reminded that Ramadan is a time to reflect spiritually, build communally, and aid those in need..".

Obama need to stop all this PC BS and  identify Islamic terrorism as a threat to the United States.

I wonder if Obama will he attend the funerals of the four U.S. Marines killed in Chattanooga,,, by a Muslim celebrating the end of Ramadan and sing Amazing Grace?

No, they are warnings from Trump one week ago ..if heeded those four Marines might have been alive today,,Trump seems to be one step ahead of the game..

The rest of the quote ;

"President Clinton never should have passed a ban on soldiers being able to protect themselves on bases.  (As Commander-in-Chief) America’s Armed Forces will be armed.

They will be able to defend themselves against terrorists. Our brave soldiers should not be at risk because of policy created by civilian leadership. Political correctness has no place in this debate.”

The warmongers come out in full force when something like this happens, when it's a terror attack against America.

But when it's a terror attack against Black America, where manifestos and direct quotes clearly and unequivocally stated the shooters intentions, it's simply a "disturbed shooter" (and the shooter is colorless as well).

Do we know yet ,,if all four of the Maines killed and the three people that were injured:  a police officer, a Marine Corps recruiter and a female Sailor were Anglo-Saxon ?

You cannot have a reasonable discussion with anybody that sees all issues through a lens of race.

This attack has zero to do with race. It has to do with ideology.

I had a thread a few years back directly after a young serviceman in London was decapitated by a Muslim extremist; it was titled "Time to wake up America".

Basically, the post talked about how these type of attacks would become prevalent in Western society. It also made the point that most of the powers that be in the US would refuse to recognize the threat, and that most people on the left would decide to put their heads in the sand.

Scalabrine was out front in that thread calling me a racist. That should have been the first clue that I was correct in my assertion.

The bottom line is that Muslim fundamentalism is becoming a haven for the disenfranchised.  It is a conduit for the powerless to become powerful through violence.  Hurting US citizens is the ultimate target.

So, the answer is simple. For starters, smash ISIS; brutally, quickly, and publicly.  Secondly, do not give your freedom away in an attempt to be politically correct. Third, understand that Muslim Radicals want to bring down the US through terror. In other words, they want to hurt you. Fourth, it is very probable that they are here in the United States, more than likely in every major city.

It is a simple game. Recognize and identify the threat.  Find the enemy.  Get rid of as many of the enemy as possible.

Never Make A Winner A Loser. Never.

Right now this problem of Radical Muslims seems a bit unmanageable from a global perspective.  It may seem at times that this may be the start of the un-doing of civilized mankind.  They seem to be such a nefarious enemy, that can conceivably grow in exponential numbers leaving all military hand-cuffed by the rules of the Geneva Convention and otherwise.

This will pass.  When the pain gets to be crucial (we are not there yet), there will be a forceful strike back and they will be defeated.  I don't know if that is 12 months, or 12 years or 12 decades.  I know for certain this will be the result.  The outlaws and barbarians never succeed in any such attempt.

The real question is how much pain and human sacrifice is needed before the tide turns?  The answer is - much more.  We are no where near the tipping point with this administration.  With a competent president, we would not even discuss this issue tonight.  But our electorate is comatose, and we need to deal with this.

Maybe if the threat of global jihad escalates to the point in which the very existence of sophisticated economies start to falter, and then the entitlements are in question.... well now we would have a unified nation!!!

Wow that's cool.  A different font and absolutely none of my post can be read.

Long story still long, I said that the issue in hand here isn't even gun control.  Had those men have been armed, who is to say they would have had the time to even defend themselves.  You could be snuck up on, fired upon from a distance where you may or may not be visible.

The main point here is the extremely real threat of domestic lone wolf terrorism.  The terror networks--isis or not--are clearly getting a message across to muslim americans (mostly younger, more influential minds) to carry out egregious attacks as such.  Whether it be 1,000, 100 or 1 dead, it is all a victory, and that's what they push.

From what I had read about this kid that carried this murder plot out, he was a grad of UT-Chat, had a good electrical engineering job and had no rap sheet other than a DUI.  Wasn't on any watchlist and was considered a "good kid" in his neighborhood, yet he just wakes up one day and decides to gun down four Marines?

We need to wake up and see the reality.  There isn't enough information on this continent to detect who or who not is a threat to national security; and you can have all of the guns strapped to your body you want, but they are pretty useless when you don't see the attack coming.

My point here is, there's really nothing any of us can do, aside from wiping out these terror cells, which seems implausible at this point.  The more these attacks becomes prevalent here, the more helpless you have to feel.  Sad, brutal truths of 2015.

We see things differently - you are DEAD wrong.

IF the enlisted were armed, they would be able to defend themselves and mitigate the damage.  But THAT IS NOT THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT - something I'm guessing you will refuse to cede....

This coward assailant would have NEVER opened his heinous attack if it was not known that is was a firearm free zone.  The mere threat of return fire is the EXACT thing that deters such attacks.... because they are cowards.

The left will never understand this, but an armed society is a free society.  If our military bases were full of armed and trained shooters, we would NEVER have an attack on such installations.  NONE whatsoever.

This loser is hell bent on being a real pain in the behind to society for some reason that we don't understand, or may understand more at a later date - I could not care less to be honest.  If he did understand that all of the military folks were carrying sidearms, he would have never picked this as a location to be an idiot.

He would have picked a school or mall or some other government building with a no firearms policy.  It is truly too bad to be an innocent bystander in such a location, but you need to choose your risks accordingly.

Free-Fire zones are an invitation to mass murderers.  That has always been the case, and continues to be so.

WW2 we interned the Japanese during time of war. We are at war with radical islam.   It is time we intern all muslims till we figure out who each is and their intentions here in the United States.  No muslim can be trusted at this point no matter their position or how long they have been here.  This now a national security issue.

The truth is that this attack, and many others have a distinctive similarity.  THEY ARE COMPLETE COWARDS.

If they were truly into the jihad movement, they would not be cowards.  They would walk calmly into a crowded room and detonate the explosive vest they have crafted and take out 20+ in and instant.

But these "home grown" jihadists are disgustingly weak.  The Mullahs are shaking their head.... lol.  They try to shoot up a few folks, with very little planning and try to get away.  Cowards.

Do you want to be a Jihadist??? Then do it the right way - with your own life.  Freaking cowards....

They will not.  They are softer than you think they are.  Spoiled uneducated idiot kids.  Shoot them dead until it does not look so great of a move for the others that are contemplating a similar move.

You need to chill out and get off the defensive.  I'm not your scalabrine trying to start nothing more than a race war between black and white in a forum discussing guns and terrorism.

I will concede to the fact that fire-free zones are bigger targets for attacks as such.  But I disagree totally with your idea of lone wolf attackers.  MAYBE not in this case, but most of these lunatics are willing to sacrifice their lives for their disgusting cause.  I own a gun, I believe in owning a gun WHEN the gun owner is completely, 100% trained and capable and responsible enough to handle said weapon.  A gun on every shelf isn't going to help us against most lone wolf attacks.  Didn't help during the Boston bombing.  Christ, a registered gun owner who was carrying (9mm on ankle) was shot here in Pittsburgh at a Macy's when a kid meant to hit somebody else walking next to the man and his wife.

When you don't see it coming, how do you protect yourself?  Once again, the main issue here is domestic terrorism, and the increasing number of lone wolf attacks inspired by terror cells who pray on influential muslim americans.  Same sense, ONCE AGAIN, I don't see a reasonable conclusion to preventing it.

Tsarnaev was a complete coward too, and in no way was the Boston bombing preventable by way of a gun.

I agree - it was not preventable by an armed society... but it was preventable.  Those brothers had a long and documented history of being exactly what they proved to be.  Do you think that possibly the political climate of our intelligence agencies had some influence on the (potential) prevention of such an act?  I tend to think it may have played a part.

I will cede that the truly "lone wolf" attacks are unpreventable.  BUT this point is crucial... The lone wolfs will be reduced to a very lonely number if the success rate was a bit lower.  And that speaks directly to my point - armed society and vigorous intelligence.

Nobody here that is reasonable will claim that we can eradicate 100% of anything... that is the essences of law enforcement or the military.  The goal is to mitigate and deter.  We are not doing that now.

Alright so I classify that as no reasonable answer to this problem.

Clearly the vigorous intelligence being applied to our national security is not weeding out the dangerous individuals facing us domestically.

And an armed society is obviously a two way street when you consider that (being nice and fair) half of gun owners are uneducated, unwilling or eradicate, zero accuracy holders.  Most of the people I know that carry guns have gone to less than two mandatory classes on gun usage, and couldn't hit a f**king barn door standing on a bale of hay 10 feet away.  You just open the door for more stupid, ignorant and/or unwilling to use gun owners walking around.  But at least you would have an increase in suicides and accidental deaths, and hopefully some of those dipshitts would be your muslim radicals.

In a perfect world, everybody that owns a gun goes above and beyond to learn about their weapon, practice firing their weapon and has the capability and mental ability to use the weapon in correct, hostile situation/environment.  But let's be serious.

I will conclude, once again with there are no reasonable ways to irradiate this real and present problem.  I will also say again though, that YES, having read more, had those marines been armed, they would more than likely be alive today.  Those men also knew how and when to use a gun.  Most do not.

I think you have totally disregarded my points... which are quite valid.

Our intelligence (FBI CIA) are a bit inept due to the current political climate.  I fully understand that you will not agree if you are a BO supporter.  I cannot say much more on this point.

My second point would be that I have actually NEVER encountered a bad shoot by a CCW citizen.  I am cwertain that there are a few examples... but hell if the left has not made a HUGE deal about it, I conclude they are very few and far in between.

You can try to denigrate the intelligence or sophistication of your fellow citizens that do carry... but I guarantee you will give a random guy a huge hug when he does the right thing in the presence of the bad guy with your own life, or your wife or your kids.

I think we see your slant.  You simply think that a defenseless society is safer then an armed society.  I emphatically disagree.
