Child dead after being left in hot car

If you can't take care of your baby why have a baby in the first place?
I never understood why people would entrust their children to complete strangers.
In a way I feel bad for this guy but I know he was either jabbering on his phone or posting on Facebook when he Forgot"!

When my daughter was born i had no  experience with infants at all, heck i did not even hold her for a week or so,but when i did that first time and she looked me dead in my eyes it was like BOOM something hit me and from that point on nothing else mattered in life but talking care of her.Now when i was not in her charge i was foot loose and fancy free to say the least.But looking back,it was weird how being a father just kinda washed over me at that moment.

Point being how can you be so pre occupied with anything other than the care of your own child.

Horrible story. I cant imagine this guys anguish. I would be suicidal. A lot of talk about "how can you forget". If you have kids, you know sleeping isnt always an option. Maybe this guy was super tired....the kid fell asleep right away. He got highway hyponsis. I dont know. I'm not making excuses. I'm just saying that judging this guy is easy to do.

Freakin awful.

uh ohn,child dead,because of his lack of care.These are the kinds of mistakes you just dont make.How hard would it have been to make sure his/her child is safe? To have them in your thoughts?A turn of the neck?

I didnt say he was the parent of the year, but this happens EVERY year. What about parents that have animals and their kids get bite. Happens every year.

S hit happens brother. Hope it never happens to us.

101 = Always have one eye on any infant or child that is not close to a parent. Ya just neeeeever know what can happen, that's always been my rule. Kids need help from every adult on this planet to help keep them safe.

Unfortunately this little one was never spotted in the back of that car.

As a parent of a 5 yr old I can. to imagine what I would do if my daughter died (regardless of reason). Even more so if it was my fault. However, as other have said, this is inexcusable. Some mistakes plain and simple just can not happen. There is nothing more precious that any child's life yet alone your own child.

I am surprised this has not been mentioned yet -- I wonder if we have the full story her.

I don't know who else to fault except the father and no excuses could justify something like that. I feel sorry for him but.....

Just toss your purse or wallet or cell phone into the back seat with the baby.

That way, if you forget the baby, you'll eventually need your purse/wallet/cell phone and go back to the car.

I was thinking same thing, this guys life is over.  How could anyone move past something like that?

The mom always takes the kid to daycare. She can't today for some reason. The dad says he'll drop the baby off..The baby falls asleep and is silent..The dad gets lost in thought and drives to work like he has everyday for years. 

I can see that happening. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

They're going to charge the dude with murder. I say his lifelong shame and guilt is punishment enough.

Well apparently this guy did it on purpose. Not only did he go back to his car at lunch but he also researched how hot a car needs to be to kill a child. Sickening!
