I tip according to how good the service was. If it’s some of the best I’ve ever had, I go as high as 30%. If it’s absolutely horrendous, I won’t tip anything.
It amazes me how some people basically tip the same regardless of how the service was.
Amazing service = 15%
The worst service they ever had = 15%
It just doesn’t make sense. Why not take the tip you would have given the guy that obviously doesn’t give a shit and give it to the guy busting his ass?

I couldn't agree more. Some servers think that being tipped is a divine right and expected, and have forgotten that a tip is a reward in lieu of good service. I tip based on the service and not for the sheer sake of it.
How many other professions can you get given extra cash for merely doing your job, and an adequate one at that? A tip is earned, and should not expected.

I am generally a good tipper but I have no issue whatsoever with people who tip less or not at all for shitty service, or not at all period.
Not sure if the above clip is the "resevoir dogs" clip but it is so true in so many ways. Its not my fault these people are working min wage, theyre working no harder (and a lot of times a lot less) than other min wage workers yet they couldnt care less about them. I dont see resteraunt workers tipping people at mcdonalds. Why? Cuz they dont care, yet when you "dont care" about them youre a cheap asshole. Its all so self-centered and ridiculous
I used to drive a truck for a living, made not much more than minimum wage at all, got fucked over on time constantly, had to get out and sweat my ass off disconnecting and connecting my trailer yet where was my tip?? NOONE CARED!!!!! Then Im supposed to go into Dennys and feel sorry for a person making the same as me because IM NOT JUST HANDING THEM MORE OF MY MONEY!!!! Waitresses are better people than the rest of us so we should all "take care" of them but fuck everyone else???
With all that said, I dont think Ive ever stiffed someone on a tip, and usually tip well. However, just becuase you dont feel like paying their salary for them I hardly think you deserve to be called cheap, or an asshole, or have your food spit in. When people start saying these things then you realize why theyre making min wage, just bad people (in regards to spitting in peoples food).
Times are tough, these same people that expect you to tip dont tip other people in their min wage jobs. Why???
I guess cuz they think theyre special

Get your lazy ass up and make a meal and you wont have to tip.
Drive to dominos instead of ordering even though they live a block away and you wont have to tip.
I play poker at my local club and whenever I order a beer I always tip the waitress.
This cheapskate next to me say "You are paying 2$ for the beer, and youre gonna give her 1$ tip for walking to the fridge and getting you a beer"?
I say yes rufus, If I dont want to tip I can walk 20 feet to the fridge and get it myself. The minute I say "Hey _____, beer please"? I have to tip IMO ,Or get it myself.
BEING CHEAP AND LAZY is disgusting.

If you dont want to tip dont go to a restaurant.
If you dont want to tip, dont order food.
Simple as that.

BEING CHEAP AND LAZY is disgusting.
The price of the "service" is included in the beer so therefore no tip is "required"
Calling someone cheap, lazy, and disgusting is just ridiculous. So I guess all those waitresses are all cheap, lazy, and disgusting when they dont tip at subway, mcdonalds, the grocery store when the min wage boy runs five aisles away to get something for you, etc etc
Waitresses are just more special than everyone else I guess

Last night I met a great bartender at a mixed drinks bar at PNC park in the hall of fame club (where I will spend all of my time at PNC from now on)... this girl loved us, it was fantastic. She used these styrofoam cups that were supposed to be for water (bigger), gave us 3 shots in each drink, and I would buy two and get 4. 14 dollars for four triple tanqueray and tonic's at a baseball game... can't beat it... She got some good tips, probably 100%. I'd like to give her MY tip next time I go.

bartenders -- i tip the shit out of because I used to do it................
servers - 20% and up..................
I despise cheap people.................
Agree. I'm a server, once you're in the business, you always tip well. You know how it is.
Servers around me get paid 2.15 an hour. You make your money through tips. I agree you should tip better based on the service, but I would never be able to not tip anything.

P.S. I spent a lot of the game bullshitting with Tigers fans from Detroit that were in my zone... they were very good people. A lot of friendly shit-talking back and forth.

Where does tipping end, should I tip someone at Starbucks for making me a cup of coffee, then why not someone at McDonalds, or someone at Subways, I know these people just make minimum wage, but if I were to do that every single time that cup of coffee just went up twenty percent. The cafeteria where I work has a tip bowl, does every high school now have a tip jar and expect it from students as well?

This is my point exactly. People in the restaraunt business feel that they should be tipped while in the process basically giving a big "fuck you" to all the other min wage workers out there
Oh but when you dont tip them youre a real asshole

Tipping very well for good service, average for average service, and not tipping at all for some of the worst service you have ever had in your life = being cheap?
