See his original post was full of general and inaccurate observations and then you have to come and make it even worse.
You really think that one side of the aisle (dem vs repub) is all that different? Well you are totally wrong.
The candidate and the party they belong to really means nothing because the system is rigged..so you and others attitude regarding Sanders vs Trump or whomever is misguided.
The reality (going back to the original formation of this country) is that our economic system is controlled by those with power and money and that means our political system is also controlled by those same groups.
So you complaining about social takers and how much of a cost that is, blah blah blah its all horse sh!t because you fail to look at WHY the COSTS are as they are..not that the money flows to one group or another. Why is the cost for healthcare so high? Why has healthcare inflation outstripped general CPI for decades? Figure THAT out and you will be pointed into the right direction.
Blaming the LOWEST social group for your ills is pathetic, blaming someone who has less than you for "taking" is really quite stupid.
People in general are not wanting something for free, but the point of Sanders approach is if you funnel government outlays away from war and corporate freebies then that money COULD be used to offset college costs, and for MANY people, the opinion of an educated population adds VALUE to that society. You and others here categorize education as "paying for a liberal arts degree" when that is just absurd, PLUS if you really were so mad at that then why are you not complaining about the general classes required to take while in college? Isnt that a better focus? If someone wants to get a degree in liberal arts there is practical use for this in society, it isnt all only about mechanical engineer and doctor degrees and anything outside a degree you find value means nothing and is a waste.
My view is that the political and economic system is rigged, it is under the control of the few and the odds of that changing are marginal to zero. Our political system will always favor the wealthy because we allow money to control our politicians, so I dont have much hope that we will ever remove that aspect...and so with that being the case I favor using our wasteful outlay of government funds to favor the LESSER groups...that means social and educational beneficiaries. I do not support our excessive military spending or corporate tax breaks/allowing corporations to offshore production without taxation. If money is being spent I'd rather it go to reduce (not eliminate) the cost of an education than to give Apple or Microsoft or the Carlisle Group a tax break by offshoring their costs and hoarding their cash to benefit their shareholders.
So to me Sanders approach of focusing on education and social benefits for the lesser holds more value than high net worth corporate benefits. And in reality that is how it works.
Lobbyists are paid for by the BIG players, not the little biz guys, so your decisions are to either support big biz and the military by supporting the GOP (in general this is and has been their bread and butter forever) or a slight lean to social programs and a reduction of the military/corporate freebies via the Democratic party.
What I would rather have is political overhaul via ridding the process of lobbyists and turn all political campaigning into ONLY funded via the government, the same ammt for each qualified candidate...no PACS or dark money or corporate campaign contributions. That will never happen so my choice is to at all and any opportunity side with the lesser income groups vs the higher income groups.
When you enable and give opportunity to those around you by education and health benefit, you really lower your cost of taxation and social reliance.
