Because you've smoked too much weed.

Weed is less addictive than coffee. That's right. COFFEE. Also, people don't smoke weed, and then get addicted, and then look for a better high and start snorting bath salts. And people do not have withdrawal symptoms from weed. The better question is "what did Dr. Drew say that WAS true?"

Never in my life have I ever heard of anyone, met anyone, read about anyone being addicted to weed. Never. It just doesn't happen. I'm not saying it has never happened (I'm sure there is somebody out there that is addicted), but it is very rare. The other day I was watching a show and there was a woman on the show that is addicted to snorting baby powder. Point is, many people are addicted to something.
Poor diet kills more people than weed does. Cigarettes kill hundreds of thousands of people every month world wide. So does alcohol. Nobody has ever died smoking weed. There are 0 documented deaths from marijuana. This plant being illegal really is absurd and there really is no good reason for it.
Also, the weed today is only about 5 to 10% stronger than it was in the the 60's. Dr. Drew really should get his facts straight. Stronger weed is more common these days, but you were still able to get some very strong weed in the 60's.

Marijuana is phycologically addictive (like t.v., sex, eating and countless other things people over-indulge on), but not physically addictive (like sugar, caffine, alcohol, crack ect.)
Marijuana does not have withdrawal symptoms outside of the phycological. If you take the pot away from a man that has smoked daily for 30 years...damn right he'll do everything in his power to get more. The thing is, after a week, he'll still have the power to try.
If you take the bottle from a man that has drank every day for 30 years, he too will do everything in his power to get more. He however, will not have the power to try after a week. His withdrawal symptoms could include dt's and death.

There is really no comparison between marijuana and 'drugs'. When I say drugs, I include caffine and sugar. When built up in your system your body NEEDS drugs to remain the same. When built up in your system your MIND WANTS to feel the effect of marijuana.

I had a phycology teacher in collage that was very one sided aleways. Never open to the possibility that each individual is unique and thusly there is rarely a definate when it comes to the mind and body.
During a lecture on marijuana, he was covering the side effects, including a-motivational syndrom. He stated that without a doubt, that smoking marijuana would result in reduced motivation which lead to poor performance and in the long run failure.
When I told him that I smoked marijuana daily, had 21 credit hours that semester, worked 40+ hours a week and went out most every night during the week, he had little to say. When I callanged the class to top my g.p.a. that semester no one could beat my 3.9.

I now run a succesfull company, and employ several people. Although not daily, I will say that I still smoke regularly. Marijuana is not a dangerous drug outside of health concerns. I think the stigma stems from the fact that most people that openly smoke are not productive citzens.
That and the fact that govt. knows that if legalized, people could grow it themselves and it would be mostly un-taxable. Not being able to rob alittle of you money is scary to them, and for that reason they make it out to be BAD! A valid point was made above that no one has ever died from using marijuana. The govt. can make plenty off of scripts, and they promote legal drug use. They will have you believe that all of those poeple that od on legal drugs did so because they mixed with other drugs, but the point is presciption medications are deadly! It is a sad sad joke.

Agree to disagree. Marijuana is not addictive.

Dr. Lester Grinspoon is an M.D. and professor at Harvard and states that alcohol, cocaine, heroin, cigarettes, and COFFEE are more addictive than marijuana. Surely marijuana has addictive qualities. I wont argue that. So yes... you can say it's addictive. I can't say it's not. But it is not highly addictive, and when something is less addictive than coffee, I don't consider it anything to worry about.
It's just like anything else. When used in moderation, there is nothing to worry about.

you are free to think what you want
this, however, does not make anything you typed true

ENOUGH!
If you're addicted to pot you're about as sad as people addicted to big macs. Pathetic. You totally lack any sense of self control and self responsibility. Pot doesn't ruin lives. People do.
I started smoking pot 15 years ago... smoked it about two times a week back then. Smoke it about once or twice a year these days.
This drug is no big deal at all and far less addictive than alcohol.
