One year my work gave me special tickets to the Fiesta Bowl. At the party was Bill Cosby, Montell Williams and Clarence Gilyard(Die Hard,Top Gun).

 I won a radio contest and had a meet and greet with Pete Townsend of the Who (He couldn't hear what anyone was saying!) Ran into the pitcher Randy Johnson back stage at the Who concert.

 Also have met Chris Isaak, Peter Noone and Robert Wuhl.

My first real job I worked at a talk radio station and met the actor John Houseman, Lindsey Wagner, Marie Osmond, Richard Simmons, Sugar Ray Leonard. This was way back!

Met quite a few athletes back in the 80's-90's while working for a delivery service ..
Joe Montana Sf Niners QB..nice enuf a guy but seemed like he jst wanted his pkg and back to playing his video gms/// Also met his wife Jennifer a few times as well ...
Charles Haley ..when he was with the Sf Niners...seemed like a regular dude ..not what i've read about him in the papers ..seemed like a dwn to earth dude...
Jeffrey Leonard ..Hac Man // Sf Giant back when they played St. Louis in NL championship gms...Believe it or not he was a real good dude...his wife as well..i used to talk to her all the time..he ended up splitting up  with her tho...then married another younger women...
Barry Bonds ...wouldnt even a autograph for a kid ..cocky & pretty much a DDDick...
Jerry Rice ..Asked a friend of mine daughter out when he was in his 40's..she was 17-18 y/o ...biggest hands i've ever seen though..
Roger Craig Sf niner RB..good dude ...dwn to earth ...offered to have kids come over to hang out & play with other kids...never did though
Omar Vizguel..Sf Giant SS// Didnt really meet him but was at a club and was told he was trying to pick a friend's WIFE...but she didn't go along...At the time he's married too....
That's some of the players i've met while doing my rounds back in the day...Left that job close to 25-30 yrs ago ...fun while it lasted...

Jeeez, you guys aren't very discriminating. Of those names you thought Ferraro and Berkowitz weren't bad enough ?

While attending Manhattan College in the Bronx in the late 60's and early 70's, I also worked full-time at the GPO ( General Post Office ) in the South Bronx, somewhat infamously known at the time as  burnt out 10451.That's where I met Berkowitz. Not saying we went out on weekends together "hunting" for girls, and I really didn't get to know him , but we were co-workers (along with thousands of other postal workers).

I'll concede if anyone has a Jeffrey Dahmer story ?

Met Troy Aikman with his family as he was shopping at the UCLA store in city walk in LA. He was real nice - I was 14 at the time he chatted with me for a bit, was surprised by my football knowledge.

 

Met Jonah Hill going for a walk in the Hollywood hills (aunt and uncle live a couple streets over) - he was an ass and wanted nothing to do with us. I was older about 29 at the time just tried to say what up Jonah.

South Bronx has some of the greatest food joints that look like little "holes in the wall."  The firm I worked for in the beginning of my career would send me and a colleague out there for HUD audit engagements bc they knew we were from Greenville, Jersey City.  Generally, it's a little suspect at night.  

Anyway, no Dahmer stories for me but I worked with a guy from Paterson who murdered his gf, dismembered her body and kept it in his closet until she was reported and found missing a week later.  Dude worked in the cubicle next to mine.  (can't find a link to this story but I know nj.com published one.)

One of my shifts was 4 PM to 12:30 AM. Yes, it was a little suspect at night. Berkowitz was the least of your worries.

At airport in Salt Lake City waiting to board a plane,I was 10 yrs. old and brother was 9 yrs.old when my dad whispered to both of us not to state but across the way was Evil Kneival. We tried and tried not to look over there but Evil caught us cause we were his biggest fans. A couple minutes later he limped over to us using his cane and introduced himself and asking our names. He was very cool and warm with both of us, than asked my dad for a pen. On the back of a boarding pass he wrote, To Bobby and Joey, Happy landings! Love Evil Kneivel. He shook my father's hand, said complimentary words to my bro and I then walked backed to his wife and couple others and boarded his plane to Butte, Montana.

Played about 30 minutes of blackjack with Willie Nelson at a riverboat casino close to Cincinnati.  He had performed earlier that night and smelled like urine.  

Met Tonya Harding in the hotel lobby of the same casino.  She was there doing some celebrity boxing and had a six pack of Bud Light in her purse.  Finished 3 of them in 10 minutes.

Didn't actually meet him, but was at the Palms w my degenerate friends watching games and Floyd Mayweather came in with what looked like his entire family tree,lol. Suppose it was his entourage, but what really made me  laugh was how all these older guys immediately jumped out of their seats and started taking pics of him like Jesus had just walked in,lol. I mean I respect the dude and he's a legend, but for some reason felt no need to leap out of my seat to see Floyd place his insanely large bet on whoever it was. Can't remember exactly what he bet on but heard he lost. It's neither here nor there but just got a chuckle out of all the grown behind men acting like teenage girls who had just seen the Biebs walk in,lol.

Tom Petty bought drinks for my girlfriend and our friends back in the 90's.  A beach club called the Sand Bar in Florida. Petty left after paying the tab but we wound up hanging out with Stan Lynch at his beachfront house. Good times.

I saw Phill Rizzuto on the highway in traffic on the way to the Yankees Baltimore game a long time ago.  He was in his Green Cadillac and I was drinking beers and saw him.  I rolled down the window and waved and rolled his window down and said hi.  I told him it was my birthday and for him to wish me happy birthday on WPIX. He was broadcasting at the time.   I guess he forgot.  I hung out with Wade Boggs who is a friend of one of my brothers friends at Parrot Island in Baltimore. He was real cool.  

 I've met hundreds of athletes and celebrities besides that doing medical work for a local sports team and also doing work for the NBA draft combine here in Chicago. A few other celebrities from work I don't want to mention.

I went to a Detroit tigers spring training practice at marchant stadium in lakeland florida and got to see actor Tom Selleck practice in a tigers uniform on the field. He was preparing for his film Mr. Baseball.

Wade Boggs (Red Sox & Yankees) was famous for his West Coast Air Trips.  Was not unusual for him to down a 24 pack of beer in his seat for three hours... WITHOUT PIZZING!!!
