thegambler- i will find out from fedex tonite at the interview and i have a interview on wed. for kmart, only thing i know so far is 40 hours for kmart and 30 for fedex
 
gfinger- it will be a 3rd shift, i wont be working two once school starts back up.. school then 3rd shift job and im fine with not spending money or doing drugs and i know i can find time to get laid..and drunk

i was reading some discussions and read fedex starts anywhere from 8.50-9.50 and nothing on how much kmart starts but read 3rd shift gets 1.00 extra (which as i said, i read it so im not saying i believe any of this but just stating what i read)

If the fedex one comes with benefits and offers to help with tuition, I would definately go with them.
I suspect they will both be pretty similar in pay but the benefits and tuition plan is worth the extra couple miles in gas.

Gene-

I'm a recruiter and also own part of the firm.  We're small (5 people) and I own a minority percentage (10%).  The one good thing about it (even though we're feeling the pinch like everyone) is that our business pays our taxes each year on our business income.  And we have never once taken out a distribution to pay ourselves (we have a base and commission structure set up).  So all of the money we have made is hanging out and basically tax fee.  For all of my complaining, I feel somewhat lucky compared to some stories you hear.  But I guess us humans are rarely pleased and always seem to want more.  Pisses me off sometimes to be honest.
