Going to take a drug test today

The "test" for determining the sex of urine is real easy: cap the bottle and shake it for about ten seconds. Male urine develops a foam on top. Female urine does not.

As far as this job being important, it is very important. I view this as an invasion of my privacy and therefore disagree with alot of these drug tests. I can easily go to worked fucked up on 3 Mad Dog's but that drug test wouldn't detect it. It would be out of my system in a day or two. I'm with you buddy...definitely an invasion of privacy.  
BUT, for whatever reason you are being tested, someone deemed it necessary for you to be drug free.  If you can't stop smoking for a few weeks in order to pass a drug test, I don't think you deserve the job.  I'm not trying to insult you or put you down, but if you can't stop doing drugs (that someone has deemed illegal) in order to get something that you want....you might have a problem.

so you think its an invasion of your privacy, if an employer doesnt want to hire and pay people who use drugs. This should be your right and not the employers?
Heres a thought start your own company and you can hire all drug users for your work force.

I get it, i wouldn't want to hire drug users either, but question you gotta ask is, what kind of drugs are they on? Are they addicted to the point where they aren't functional members of society?  Would you say that marijuana (which is my only drug of choice) is a harder drug than alcohol, cocaine, etc? Marijuana is not even a drug in my eyes, and by far the least harmful, but stays in your system the longest. I don't plan on being under the influence when i work, so how is that fair to me? Should I just switch over to cocaine because i can eliminate it from my system?

I don't have a problem (drug problem is what i assume your referring too). I have a problem with the fact that Alcohol isn't considered a drug that one would be tested for, but is more destructive to ones life than Pot. Should I switch over to being an "alcoholic"  for a couple of weeks instead of smoking? Its just unfortunate that my drug of choice is harder to eliminate from the body than some of the harder more addicting, life ruining drugs out there. That's where my problem comes from.

I agree with you alcohol can be worse, but the problem is your drug of choice is currently illegal, so that makes a big difference, even if you dont agree with that.
Like this guy says, if you cant quit long enough to get it out of your system, then it really shows the pot is more important to you then the job.

it's not a big deal for a normal person to go a few weeks without putting anything in their system.

it seems like it's a big deal for you.

That's it.  It's not so much the use of the drug itself, but it says something about the person: Basically, that they can't be responsible and not do drugs during the course of something very important (job search).  

That and in this age of negligent hiring, it's just another thing companies do to screen employees and at least offer some sort of protection if they ever had to defend themselves.

Update: Called the recruiters office, and I'm glad to say the whole process was a complete success

She (the recruiter), actually tried contacting me first, but some how i never got her message. So i called her and she confirmed the test, said everything was good to go.Going to buy the girl a gift for being drug free and not pregnant.  Thank Covers brothers for the support (and to those who weren't exactly on my side). There you go, you heard and read it hear, How To Pass A Drug Test....Enough google searches.
