I'm hitting up Wrigley Field for a game in late August, and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice as to where to sit. I'm going with my wife, for a day game. Kinda want to see some dingers, but heard the bleachers can get hot in late summer. I'm from Canada so don't get down to Chicago too often so want to make it count. Anyone??

The bleachers are horrible. They are level which means that to watch the action you have to look up the whole game. Ever try looking up for 3 hours straight?
Wrigley has box seats from 1st base around to 3rd that are in the sun with zero obstructions (pillars) until you get under the upper deck. All of these seats are fine until you reach the outfield, then you get what you paid for.
The upper deck behind home plate to the base lines is not a bad view. These are cheap enough if price matters.
Like all teams the opponent in town dictates the cost of tickets. Better opponents, more expensive seats.
You can price shop tickets by going directly to the Cubs web site. Stub Hub and Ticketmaster are just a terrible deal.
There's a hundred places to eat (and people watch) in the neighborhood so meals pre-game are normal prices. Eating the slop at the ballpark is just taking your life in your hands.
Use public transportation to get there and back.

By the way, buy your seats as soon as you know your travel plans. Better seats are sold to the idiots who come once a year for a fortune and may already be scarce.

wait until the day of the game. the weather is always a big ?mark. plus - the cubs will be way out of it and there will be plenty of tickets available at the park or they will be really cheap outside. Go to Bernie's for an italian beef!

Thanks for all the info, ended up getting terrace box seats. Probably could have waited and saved a bit (I agree that the Cubs won't be contending in late August), however they were still half the price of what I pay for hockey tickets up here. Now just hoping for sun, heavy wind blowing out to center, and a ton of runs. I'll take a 15-12 type game with 7 big flies.
One last thing...What's the best deep dish pizza place downtown?
