Guys be careful in this world

For those of you who might just be joining the site, I just want to tell you the truth about this world.

First dont fall for the stories you see here. Dont allow yourselves to think this life is glamorous, fun or exciting because its not.

If you start betting games especially with any frequency, you WILL lose money, you WILL waste time, you WILL be stressed out all the time.

Dont fall for the people here posting how they always win, posting their fake YTD records showing how much they won. ITS all BS just like when a tout asks you to sign up and claims he always wins.

No one wins long term. NO One. Everyone will have good runs. But in the long run, no one is going to come out ahead. This is a game where you are going against pretty much the biggest house edge in all of gambling. Especially with prop bets like player totals and things like that, its generally a 30 cent line, ie -115 both ways or -120/-110. At that juice, sports betting has a higher house edge than even roulette double green, which is generally considered the worst bet in the casino.

I have known loads and loads of people who bet games on the regular. None of them were long term winners. In fact, a winning week is rare. Dont allow yourself to get sucked into the lies that is this world. This world is pretty much 100% lies. You can look at any poster on this board who posts games before they start and you will see he is quickly down units. No one ends up plus units without employing tricks like using fake lines, increasing his bets to like 60 units to erase losses, claiming he gets free juice, or the davemsh special waiting until the game are over before posting that he had the winner. This is all bells and whistles, tricks and lies. 

You will be shown a glamorous world where everyone wins here. Fact is, its all false. Reality is, gamblers who bet almost every day are guaranteed to lose long term and these gamblers all have very little money to their names. Often under $200. Imagine being a grown adult with $200 or less. Realize that you are entering a world that is very very similar to a serious drug addiction. In fact, science has shown that a gambler is in fact on drugs when he has action. The body releases dopamine and a gambler gets hooked on this dopamine same as a crack addict gets hooked on crack. The only difference is the financial impact. Generally its far worse for gamblers. Drug dealers buy really nice cars. The house builds billion dollar casinos. There is nothing fun or exciting about this world. You are starting down a road that can very well ruin your entire life while you make up lies on gambling forums to try and cover it up. Not to mention the misery of betting games every single day. Exciting life, huh ? These are truly some of the most miserable lives in the world. 

Im not even going to respond to any hate. What I am posting here is the truth and any new gamblers deserve to hear the truth instead of just the made up lies. Do youself the biggest favor ever and walk away.

Interesting post. Not trying to spread hate as you say, but curious how you came about this take. Very strong statement to make given you dont know everyone out there who is gambling. I understand the point you are trying to make, and it is a valid one, just suggesting being more careful with the words you use. 

yeah no one who bets games regularly wins. Just like no one who plays roulette regularly wins. No one. Short of cheating, it's impossible. The math says so. 1+1=2 for all of us and No one has ever figured out how to make 1+1=5.

Math works the same for all of us. This is just the same as a drug addict who says yeah everyone else has a problem but I have it under control. Hogwash. 

I don't care how much handicapping you do, how much info you gather.. no one is so much better than the team Vegas has making these lines, so much better you can beat them 53% of the time. 

This is a addiction that everyone loses at in the long run and new people getting into it deserve to hear the truth. Because what are they gonna hear in the main forum. They are going to hear just about every person claiming he wins. Trust me and I'm not trying to be a jerk but trust me close to all the regular posters here are flat broke. That's what gambling does. 

If 500,000 people played roulette for 3 hours a day every other day for the next year.so 3 hours a day, 182 days, every single one of them would be down money after the year. I don't have to know any of them to know that. Unless they are cheating. And you know what, if you went to a casino and did that and you were plus money after the 182 days, the casino would know 100% for a fact you cheated. It's impossible otherwise.

Sports betting generally has a higher house edge than even roulette.

 And it's not just the juice that kills gamblers. There are a whole host of other things that adds to the house edge. Poor money management, chasing, jumping on bandwagons. And gamblers do all these things too which explodes the house edge.

Just look in the mains. We have a guy claiming he bet $17,500 on a team today, another claiming he bet $40,000, another claiming he bet $20,000. Of course they are all full of shit but people really do that. That's terrible money mgmt even if someone had a million dollars.

Then we have miracling who bet an over  huge and kept rebetting it over and ove and over and said he was done if he lost - He Lost. 

Then we have brooklyncapper who lost a 3 unit play today, then lost a 5 unit play then lost an 8 unit play but thankfully he won his last chase 18 unit play to get even. That works well online since you can fake double down forever but will absolutely bankrupt a gambler in the real world.  And yes gamblers seem to always chase losses. 

We had a bunch of gamblers jump all over the Braves after the braves went like 22-4. They jumped on the Braves at huge juice just in time for the Braves to tank. 

We had a play of the day thread maybe 2 weeks ago that got like 10 plays of the day posted. Amazingly every single play lost. 

So yes we all have nice lucky runs but in the end every person who does it regularly loses.

Glad to see some things dont change like Danny pulling the classic "I cant figure out how to win so nobody wins" routine.

I keep a record.  I post all plays.  I win year after year.

more like, I know 3 buddies who opened a dk account and they don't win thus, no one wins.       

My mistake, I usually just follow all these posts casually and dont respond. I was unaware that this was a regular thing. I just found his initial post interesting so I thought I would engage. 

This dude does not have three buddies. The irony in the guy who is addicted to Mexican prostitutes, who are more than likely barely 18 and being forced into the trade, this same dude is in here talking about addiction.

Simple mathematics.  If you only play short dogs, +105 to +120, it's nearly impossible to get hurt.  Casino is a different story.  Since every game is plus odds for the house the suggestion is to play games like Baccarat which offer you the best odds.  How do you win at a casino if all the games are negative expectation?  Ahhh, this is where your comps come into play.  Free rooms, free shopping points, free show tickets, VIP lounge with free food and drinks?  Sign me up!  I'll gladly drop $10K a year at the Baccarat table when they are comping me $15K in free stuff.

Of course this assumes you have the common sense to wager within your budget.  If you're risking your children's college funds to support your gambling habit then you're beyond hope.  A born loser.

 Thos is how I stay Sane in gambling.

I like to win and I like the thought of making 10 fold on my money.  Whatvibrealized is that things streak.  One day nothing can go wrong nearly every bet hits... other days you couldn't pick a winner in a horse race of you bet every horse it seemed.¹

Ot how gambling goes. I can usual pick 4 teams that win. Or select a 4 race card where I have a single and all and a few races with 2 or 3 depends... but my initial wager is always a small amount that I can afford. 20 bet on games 50 on horses. 200 buy in for a tournament even if I have to step to get into the tournament...

So as I am demonstrating in baseball forum is 4 in a row starting with a 20 bet of I win tonight I get 250. But then I going back to a 20. Bet tomorrow and bank the roll for when my streaks go south... 

At this rate I can miss 10 times hit once and I still make mineh...and continue to pkay on rhe houses dime....

And the initial 100 to try 5 times. Is never part of your bills .never was part of anything but entertainment part of your household budget. And you can't take any of your winnings away until it like I can buy a new car with this ...type of thing....

Curious about where these comps are.  Definitely not Vegas - those days are long gone.  You can walk into any hotel/casino there with $10k, and you'll still have to pay for parking.

 We are in the quiet corner of New England.  Within my hometown of Hartford suburbia I am within 2 hours of 5 major casinos.  Not only do they all offer free parking but will give you free comp points for just showing up that day.  You can purchase gasoline at their private pumps, use your points at any restaurant on premises, etc.  THEY WANT YOU AND COMPETE HEAVILY FOR YOUR PATRONAGE   I have not been to Ballys in Rhode Island in over a year   Yet they just sent me 10 separate $300 free bets for the month of August 

your casino play, if strong enough will get you free rooms and free suites.  It’s a different world up here in New England for sure. Recreational MJ laws make this a hassle free paradise.
