Its Covers...............I have been getting blocks also. Only when I log onto Covers.

This has been going on for months.

Firefox with ad blocker and flash blocker addons solved all the issues for me

I have a blocker that blocks only on covers. when I open up any new forum page.

It is a big pain in the ass.

Covers is a good site though.

It is a free site.

These are the problems that arise when you run a website.

They have handled it.

My Norton and Avg blocks them but just hope something don't get by . We shouldn't have to worry about this shit if we are going to get a dam virus or not . They make enough of $$$$$$$$ off the bullshit ads on here to fix it . Thats BULLSHIT that Lou said its not Covers .

Don't use anything you don't know how to properly use. I haven't had a pop up ad in 10 years....learn how to operate a computer.

OK guys,

This is what I got back from the techies...

"OK, so they are listing a site (37lo6n.com) and an IP (178.17.163.187) that both come from eastern Europe... and then they say that these viruses must come from Covers. That doesn't make sense."
It's not us.
You got the virus or spyware somewhere else. You downloaded and installed something off the internet and it also installed something else at the same time. It happens.

These viruses and malware need you to manually install them somehow. They do not get installed drive-by while you are on a site.

Have we ever asked you to download anything off of Covers? No, we haven't.

Chances are, you guys also get lots of pop-up banners when you visit Covers too, right? We've seen the complaints.

We don't do those either. 

The only pop-ups we do are occasional rich media ads (right now we do them once a day for the Vegas SportsDay show)... so if you get tons of pop-ups when you browse Covers, you've got malware on your computer.

Neither of these situations are our fault. There is nothing we can do about them either other than encourage you to clean your system.

NOTE: If you do receive multiple and excessive pop-ups while you are on Covers, please let us know who is advertising in those pop-ups.

And before the tech geniuses come on and say, "Hey Lou, you're full of shit. You CAN  get viruses by browsing sites. Facebook has a virus right now."...


No, it doesn't. It's the same type of shit. People click on a link they think is good and install something, then they blame Facebook.

Same with Twitter. Same with Covers.

You got it somewhere else.

There are may ways to get a virus without downloading a program or hitting a pop up ect . It might not be the wole web site it can just be pages

Websites can contain viruses, and you can get them through Drive-By Downloads, in which the website gives you a virus without you downloading anything.

What is a drive-by download?

A drive-by download is a program that is automatically downloaded to your computer without your consent or even your knowledge. Unlike a pop-up download, which asks for assent (albeit in a calculated manner likely to lead to a "yes"), a drive-by download can be initiated by simply visiting a Web site or viewing an HTML e-mail message. If your computer's security settings are lax, it may be possible for drive-by downloads to occur without any further action on your part.

Now, look up all of the viruses that have been mentioned in this and the other threads and you will see that not one of them are drive-by downloads.

If yours is, please let us know the name and we will look into it.

That only happens if your security settings are lax, as the article you pasted said....you need to take a few courses, or start following your own articles advice.

Lou this is a new comp I downloaded nothing on this one . I only use it to book and look up stats ect . Come in here and this is the only site that I get hit on . And you virus log would not tell you if its a drive by

BTW - it doesn't matter how new or old your computer is.

Some viruses test IP addresses all the time. So if you don't have a proper firewall or AV software set up, you can get a virus just by connecting to the internet.

This could be the much-feared Twitter virus. Basically, you click on a Twitter link to a picture, but it's really a virus.
