I'm still using my TDK audio cassettes, the 80's stuff. Still have my MiniDisc players.
This pandemic took you back abit with reflection.
Also I have received my new Airpod3 recently, it sounds fantastic to listen to ACDC Live; especially pair it with IpadPro, the Hi resolution with flac audio. Amazing.
Worth evry $

The longevity of your tapes depends on a number of factors, the biggest factor being how well you’ve stored the tapes and the environment they are stored in. (Hint: you want cool and dry.) Insufficient storage will quicken the deterioration process, but you should be aware that even tapes kept in optimal condition are not immune from this.
You will probably experience a 10-20% signal loss, purely from magnetic decay, after 10-25 years. Given how long VHS has been obsolete, chances are most old tapes have already reached, if not exceeded, this time frame.

Being at home attempting to recover from COVID,I began playing some of my really old VHS tapes. When the VCR was first introduced,it was thought that the tapes would last 10 years or so. I was just watching the 1980 World Series,Game 3 complete with Jimmy Carter commercials. Of course, the quality isn't what it was,but it's watchable. I love OJ's reports during the 1994 Super Bowl. I'm throwing about two thirds of my tapes out for recycling so they can live on-unlike mere mortals.
Best of health in your recovery...
I was shocked when most of my late 80's early 90's BILLS and Sabres VHS tapes still worked after stumbling upon them when the pandemic started ... Gladly paid $11 a piece to get them transferred to DVD
BEST OF HEALTH, HAPPINESS,WEALTH, BLESSINGS and LUCK TO ALL !!

Couple years ago I found the VHS tape of the Leonard - Hagler fight that I had taped when it was replayed on Wide World of Sports. Still love watching that fight, but the commercials are even better!
