is it worth it to purchase the latest, best pc on the market, that is around 3 times the price of a normal pc?
i mean those GBs, GCs, DDR3s, i7's.....cant believe those high prices...
i need a new desktop pc ( i have a lap top from 3 years ago ). imo a better option is a desktop pc, more value for the money since i can get better performances for less $, and i really dont need another lap top.
Some opinions about what to purchase in terms of how much RAM, what kind of GC, processor or whatever. Im not a computer freak so anything can help out.
i will use it for internet, but also some gaming and online gaming and gambling ofcourse.
the pc will be virtually turned on 24/7
apple is not an option
thanks

I asked this question recently with regard to a gaming PC as I was ready to drop around 2k for one. A few guys, including Lippsman I believe, told me that I was crazy to spend that much. I ended up getting one for around 800 bucks or so that works great for the games I was trying to play.

Get at least a 120 GB SSD .....even if you have to step down on the Graphics Card. ( Graphics cards are pretty powerful these days for the money). You can move a lot of old hardware into these systems n save money that way too.
Download good quality software through torrent .....Win 7 , Acronis Image Maker , ..... etc etc
There's a lot of really good values out there ... don't go for the latest, greatest tech. Also HD prices stayed up because of the Tsunamis so it might take a lil lookin around for good deals , but not really a deal breaker.
Good Luck

That new Vizio looks bad ass. I saw it for $700.00 at Sam's Club. I don't know about specs and all of the other stuff but it got some good reviews. One of the nicest looking PC's I have ever seen.
