"Destabilizing the region" is a bit extreme, but freeing up 150 Billion to such an untrustworthy country such as Iran cannot possibly be a good idea. Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis should prove this point in the future. It is much more likely that terror attacks in this region will spike, rather than me pumping $2.00 gas into my tank. Furthermore, there are no restrictions on Iran's ICBM program, and Iran doesn't have to disclose anything further regarding their Uranium enrichment programs.

Who has Iran ever attacked? 

If you're going to suggest terrorist groups that Iran might support then you have to talk about Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is the worlds largest source of funds and promoter of Salafist jihadism, which forms the ideological basis of terrorist groups such as the Taliban, al-Qaeda, ISIS and others. 

Where is your outrage about US relations with the Saudis? 

Why should the US support the Saudis and Iran should be sanctioned to holy hell.

That is quite true..

Saudi Arabia is much more of a concern than Iran is.

I get that your schtick here on Covers is to be the contrarian to all opinions political, but I think your hard on for Saudi Arabia has gotten in the way here. The topic of the thread is the Iran Nuke Agreement. I was simply offering up an opinion on why I think it will not be worth the $2.00 gas that you guys are so thrilled about. The next time we discuss Iranian relations, I will make sure to supply the grocery list of Middle Eastern countries that we shouldn't be doing business with.
 
By going through with this deal, Iran and your beloved Saudi Arabia will essentially be interchangeable. They will both be shaking our hand at the business table, and training as well as arming the next wave of militants that want nothing more than to kill us all.
 
I was always curious about the term "Masshole" Thank you for clarifying it for me.

Just filled up my 250 gallon home heating tank with $1.89 / gallon heating oil.  232 gallons for only $440.

I'm loving this sh!t.

Too bad my other place, the Condo, has Electric baseboard heat.

Is this supposed to take effect if congress signs off on it or no? Does it take into consideration gas usually goes down in winter?  Does it take into account current supply already not released?  
I am not sure the 'treaty' ---non treaty --- will have anything at all to do with it. Let alone be provable on its own.

First off I did not come here to jab the bear on this topic.  The OP decided to call his prediction a victory because gas went down a few cents... not at all close to $2.  He asked me about eating my words as if he was correct.  He is not.  No $2 gas. The OP should save his victory lap for when he actually is right.  I would not hold my breath - it is not going to happen.

Hey Goose why are you filling your heating oil up now in early AUG for the winter?  You are so sure that this price decline is going to continue right??

Your own decision to buy now is very telling.  People vote with their wallets, and you just told everybody you think this is the bottom.  If you did not think that, you would wait for OCT or so...

You called Goose a moron for his prediction in your first post. I think that could qualify as a "jab the bear" type statement.

Goose said he will be back in six months to claim his victory. Seems like a reasonable time frame for such a prediction. Let's revisit this in six months and see how close it is. After all, in your Facebook stock prediction, you gave a year time frame which seemed very reasonable. 

Now you're asking him how it feels to wake up and be wrong about his prediction. Something you could easily answer yourself considering the result of your Facebook stock price prediction. Something you still haven't accounted for or even simply stated "hey, sometimes I'm wrong". We all get predictions wrong over time. Not everyone runs to the next guy and calls him a moron for making his though.

SportsFan:  Just so you know how it works.  When a Homeowner gets down to below about 20 gallons in the Heating Oil Tank this is no time to fool around.  You still have to keep hot water available for your daily showers and dishwasher.  Under 20 gallons means it's time to fill up - NOW.  Heating Oil is not taxed as much as gasoline or diesel fuel but $1.89 Home Heating Fuel signals Gasoline is not very far behind.  And with the glut of Iranian Oil on the market, $2 gasoline is creeping a lot closer than you can imagine.
