I sometimes go with my father to the casino and the only thing he touches is the slots. No matter how many times I tell him what a waste of time and money it is, he refuses to really try any other game. The thing is, I don't recall him ever winning a big jackpot so lord knows why he loves the damn things so much.

I can't imagine how people can actually play these things on the regular. It's so fu*king mindless and boring! You walk by and half these people are just like zoned out zombies.

I can vouch slots are a waste of money. I played video poker and blackjack last year at local casino and lost 2100. My first five trips to the casino this year I decided to play slots and I lost a lot more than that. I no longer play them and no longer go to that casino although I hit 4 jackpots last year at video poker. I would recommend playing blackjack, craps, video poker, or poker. I don't have much luck at blackjack anymore either. So I pretty much just go to play in the poker tourneys. If I don't win anything I go home.

Whats misleading is the signs that say like 90% or 99% payback. Most states there only has to be one slot machine in the casino that pays that. The rest could only pay back 25% or 30%. Slots are a waste of money if you play you should play high denomination ones as they keep less money. Like the $100 dollar machines. But I would stick to card games or video poker or not recommend going. If you live in vegas sports is fine to.

The only thing you can win at is video poker. There is a casino out here that pays back over 100% when you go on double point days. Again the machines must be 9/6 on jacks or better and you will never find those at most casinos.

The casinos out here all use to have 9/6 and over the past 5 years the number of those casinos have dropped to about 4 or 5 in the state that I know of.

On a side note, I did hit a royal or $1k on Monday

We have tons of casinos with slots up here. They are like anything else in the casino.........if you play them long enough they will eat your money. I rarely go into casinos (even though there are two within 10-15 mins of me........tribal casino employees are rude & the service is shiitty) but the last 2 times I went with friends that like slots, I won within a few minutes & just cashed out............just a couple hundred each time but wtf......paid for my night out.

We have two huge tribal casinos here in CT.Mohegan Sun has the nastiest management and it trickles all the way down to the restroom attendants.Foxwoods is a completely different world.  People are nice.  Some very first class restaurants make it an enjoyable evening.Going to Foxwoods tomorrow night.  Monday night is Lobster night at David Burke Prime Steakhouse. When I win big at blackjack, Wifey is allowed to put a couple hundred into the $5 wheel of fortune machines.  If you bet the maximum 3 coins, $15, and you hit a "SPIN", the wheel spins around and you get that dollar prize.  Somehow it always JUST misses the Jackpot prize.  But it is still exciting.  Won $1K and a few $500 hits that way.The ONLY way I put money into slots is if I have first won at blackjack.  No way would I throw a couple hundred into a machine if I wasn&#x27;t playing with "house money".

But I have been in Tunica many times when Daly is there. I guess it was cool to hear Daly was playing $500 multicoin machines when you would hear a commotion. But I damn sure never joined the group circle jerk of $5 table bettors who got all jizzy when Daly hit a cherry. absolutely you can and I have 2 different ways...

A) Draw Poker-Jacks or Better, no wild cards...

learned how to play this many years ago from a nice lady-never play any non-face cards off the draw, only Jacks or better...be patient. Never play gut shot straight draws, etc. I played this to profit back them and finally hit a royal straight flush on a dollar machine-nice 4K payout the year the stock market crashed(1987)

B) I play wheel of Fortune with the wife. We look for a machine with someone playing with a lot of credits-we watch, come back and confirm they are continuing to win and come back the next day...we have won on the same machines plenty of times...machines can be hotter every now and then...believe it or don't....
