Yup, that’s what this whole thing is about.

A good hearted old man who always did the right thing and the vile haters who want him to die for no reason.

It’s not about the fallout of an egomaniac putting the good name (no longer) of his football program ahead of children being sexually abused by his friend in his locker room and his decision to look the other way while more boys were raped by his longtime friend and then people’s general indifference to him having cancer.

You're shocked because I won't condemn a person whose involvement hasn't been determined yet? Or you're shocked because I won't believe the news media's innuendos like other media sheep? You think that Paterno and Sandusky are the greatest of pals? I'm sure that Sandusky "retired" because they were the greatest of friends.As for letting Sandusky keep an office on campus I believe that was the university's  decision as I don't think Paterno owns any buildings on campus.

I have been following the story fairly closely and, IMO, at least one of the following must be true:

1). Joe Paterno is mentally retarded and the last 5 decades have been a charade.

2). Joe Paterno went severely senile over a decade ago.

3). Joe Paterno went insane over a decade ago.

4). The most powerful man in the history of Penn State wasn’t really the one in charge of the football program.

5).  Paterno knew what Sandusky was and not only went along with the cover up (or at least turned a blind eye to it), but allowed the monster to remain around the program up until about a week before his arrest this month putting protecting the good name of his beloved school ahead of protecting little children his friend was raping.

I made my post to show you how ridiculous your little tactic of nit picking someone's statement is.  In pure Straight Shooter style, I still challenge you to show me where Joe Paterno announced he had cancer.  And no, his son making that statement is a lot different than him making that statement in the context of your post, so no, I'm not going to let you just brush that mistake aside and say it changes nothing in this context. 

The only thing that I'm embarrassed about is that I can't seem to avoid being dragged into arguments with someone as angry and as obtuse as you.  It has become my guilty little pleasure, and you are right, I am embarrassing myself over that fact
