I havent posted in a while but this got me going.  I have been betting ML parlays on college football and basketball for the past 3 years, and while I am not making a killing at it I am mos def on the + side of it.

Point spread parlays are sucker bets. But I don't see anything wrong with stacking ML plays with good odds.

I really like all these teams to win outright, so I feel this is good value and not a "sucker bet"

Anyone equating parlays with a parlay card is a moron. The parlay is no better or no worse than the individual component bets. If you have good value in each leg of the parlay you have a fair chance to be successful over the long term.

Ive hit parlays risking under 25 bucks that have won me over 10k about a dozen times. I'd rather throw out a few hail marys along with my single bets than grind away with straight bets. You need to hit a high percentage of your straight bets to make the big bucks and most dont. I'd rather just cash in huge on that one day I pick the winners. You've obviously never hit a big time parlay or you'd be singing a different tune. This is understandable and I can see why you think they are so moronic....

Parlays are actually for winners. If you are gonna bet a game you think its fonna win. Well, why not put all your plays together for a big payout?. If you bet 6 games, you gotta hit 4 to win any money. So, if you can hit 4 .....why not 6? Of course you shouldnt be betting large money on parlays, but I think if you dont pkay them you have no confidence

ML and Teased Lines can have nice payouts..

But yes, in the long run, parlays are sucker bets.  But most people on here bet for the action anyway.  Carry on

Do you bet at all? If so what's your view on laying $110 to win $100? After all that's a long term losing proposition. 

I'm not big on parlays at all but I think the context has to be taken into account here as well. 99% of people who bet sports aren't attempting to do it for a living, they do it as a hobby or maybe during their annual trip to Vegas. They do it as a way to cheer for their team or bond with family/friends while in Vegas. It's a form of entertainment for them, not an investment. I see nothing wrong with taking short odds on a parlay in that case. 

Your criticism of people and what they do with their money is unnecessary, unless they criticize you first. If someone were coming to you for advice, or told you that they intended to bet sports as an investment and wanted to do only parlays, then it's warranted. 

It's the same as telling a person their hobby is wrong because they spend money on it. If it makes them happy and isn't a burden on them financially, what does it matter what people do with their money?

It's not hard to hit a 3 team parlay once a week. Obviously neither of you have.

30 to 50% takeouts shouldnt make any thinking person happy..Its hard enough to overcome 5-10% in the long run- ..

 

You people don't get it do you? Its not my opinion, its the numbers, the odds. How can someone gamble and not know anything about the odds?
