the fact i didn't watch a second. And i don't feel bad/unamerican. I don't watch canoeing and fencing anyway. What about you?

I admit I watched about 10 min of usa womens beach volleyball.
Only to see if I could spot camel toe in their tight white bottoms.
But the camera man was pissing me off so I turned it because he was not on the same page.

I saw a bit of each event. Sort of a goal. Track and field, sprinting especially, is cool to watch, the horses and judo were lame. All other stuff fell in between. Didn't feel super American watching just felt normal.

I watched all the swimming while I was at work 

I also bet & watched all 32 of the soccer games from the first game of Honduras vs. Morocco all the way to Mexico beating Brazil for the gold

sad for the OP, i get tired of watching millionaire sportsmen whine and under perform because they didnt get their $100m 6 year contract, it was great to see real people busting a gut just for national pride and a medal. Love what the olympics stand for

Soccer, Basketball, and Tennis all made the work day go by quicker.  I love betting on the Olympics

I only bet on the men's basketball games.

Hence I only watched the men's basketball games.

Everything else was a  fest

I couldn't get enough.  Some of the best stories were shared on the overnight coverage (where you got to see a lot of the more obscure events they never show in prime time).  I pretty much stayed up until 2:00 or 3:00 a.m. every night and watched for an hour before I went to work in the morning.

watched a bunch of both the mens and womens gymnastics. every four years these guys and gals just amaze me and the wife. how those little girls can perform the stunts they do on the uneven bars and that 4" beam is beyond me. the performance of that Dutch guy on the high bar was unreal in winning the gold and I'm always impressed at the pure strength it takes to do the rings

didn't watch too much else ex for late night highlights. Phelps is a MACHINE in swimming esp in butterfly.

Not all about gambling you say?  There were all sorts of bets available for each event...

I couldn't get enough olympics here in Canada... If I lived in the states I likely wouldn't have watched fuck all either due to NBC bullshit

kinda like the opening and closing ceremonies, just to check them out.

winter is more entertaining to me than summer. some events are cool, most seem boring to me. whatever, take it or leave it. it's for the athlete's more than anything i figure, cool to see them celebrate or cry. 

watching athlete's that actually give a fuck about winning is cool for a change of pace.
