I think alot of it has to do with the fact that Plenty Of Fish is free while Match is not. If you're not paying for the service, you might not take it as seriously and, more to the point, you're not going to have any great incentive to actually meet people - you can just sort of sit back and wait for the supposed 'ideal' to come along.

And not to sound overly cynical, but there's also the reality of 'bait' users on sites like Lavalife and Match - people paid by the company to string you along so that you keep renewing your membership. That's why it's important to push to meet quickly.

As for the messages, that I can't really help you with - I only ever got a handful of replies, so obviously I don't know the answer to that question either. One tip I can give you for POF however is this: there's a search function where you can see users who haven't gotten any messages in a couple of days - these are the girls you go after. Once the feeding frenzy has died down (new girl = hundreds of stupid messages along the lines of "Want to chat?"), that's when you go in for the kill with a personalized message (talk about similar interests, something in the background of her picture, etc...). That strategy's worked twice for me now with the girl saying each time "It's so nice to get an actual message for a change!". Not saying it's foolproof, but you stand alot better chance when you're only 1 of 5 guys writing as opposed to 1 of 200.

So my date was ok I guess, she paid for half and insisted on it.. She just got divorced like 4 weeks ago but has been apart for a few months and according to her it was her first date since.. She seemed nervous though..

We are going to play golf on Sunday, she is a 12 hcp she says... So that should be fun...

Got another tonight so we'll see how that goes..

It's like lying about your height in the NBA...because some lie about it, everyone by default has to lie about it because teams who will draft you or trade for you subtract 2/3 from the listed height because they know it is common practice to add 2/3... 

of course you could be lying your ass off already and your well ahead of the game...

Funny story I got for you guys.  This girl winked me a few days ago.  She is pretty cute.  So we exchanged emails.  In my profile I stated that I was an OR Radiographer.   It's a fancy name for an x ray tech up in surgery.  So  We have been talking.  My brother is in town.  Last night we were texting back and forth.   She asked me this question.  "Is your brother a doctor too?"  So i told her I wasn't a doctor.  I told her I would call her today.  I called and no answer.  I  texted her and NO answer.  LOL.  Girls are all about the money.  THis is proof.

So I was in a slump about 7 yrs ago and I get Cold Called about Massmatch.com and say screw it and sign up for their online dating site.  Next thing you know I get an email from this Peruvian chick and all her pics are smoking hot.  So we arrange to meet for dinner.  I show up and she's a fucking midget .  I mean it's the girl from the pics but she's literally 4 feet tall.  Anyway I decide to be nice and have dinner with her well wouldn't you known this is a high end place and the bitch starts ordering Crystal, the most expensive dish and hour derves.  So I'm sitting like what the fuck; so I decide to start telling her all these crazy stories about free basing coke, banging hookers, stomping peoples heads in, whatever I can to get her to take off.  Didn't work, she liked the stories, so we get done with dinner and she asks if I can driver her to her car, even though it's like 200 feet away from where my car is.  I say ok. Long story short she goes for my trouser trout and I ended up depositing a nut down her throat.  I mean her hands were so little it made me feel like I was packing serious heat and what the hell I spent $300 non the dinner.  Never saw her again and suddenly my slump ended so all in all a good experience.

Women want a provider because ultimately, their career ambitions get curtailed due to childbirth ...or they are subjugated in a male dominated workforce... or they know they still make $.70 on the dollar when compared to a man so they're essentially paying 30% juice on every hour worked (if it were a bookie, even the stupidest gambler wouldn't place bets with him if he had the chance)

Therefore, she's primarily interested in your income above all things because your pic and/or your exaggerated profile won't help her raise a family...

This is a women's fair economic demand for the only thing men are interested in...and Tiger's texts speak eloquently on that topic if you don't know what I'm talking about....

Wouldn't a better analogy be tacking on a few years to the supposed age of baseball players from Latin America? Height can be verified, age not so much...

I signed up on plenty of fish over the weekend, so far only three views. and I don't like that they allow men to view other mens profiles. I see you can opt to not receive e-mails from men, but they don't allow you to block your profile.

When I was at my GF's Christmas party last December, I counted no less then 5 guys who were over-weight and not particularly good looking....who had WAY out kicked their coverage from a wife standpoint.  They were hot.  I'm like WTF do these guys haves?  They were nice enough.  None of them rich (in fact, in 2 or 3 cases, the woman probably made more money....just a guess based on what they did).

I finally got a reply from a chick on Plenty of fish.  Not a bad looking broad.  She gave me her e mail and I just sent her an e mail.  So I got 2 broads going on now between pof and match.com.  I also met some chick from the burbs of Chicago this weekend at a bar.  We hit it off real well I ended up making out with her at the bar.  .  We are supposed to hang out before I go to Vegas on Thursday.

always voice verify before going into personal details. get a vm for 5 bucks a month and ask them to leave a message long enough to decipher their gender. save yourself a lot of aggravation.
