parking wars follows the workers for the philly and detroit parking departments. They go around and ticket people and they have separate people who go around all day and scan license plates for outstanding tickets and then boot them if they have any. your story has been told many times. people from out of town come in and get a ticket and they go and bitch how they didn't know and the workers usual response is "welcome to philadelphia". it's hilarious

If your car is registered in another state you have no worries. However if you go back to Pa and someone checks your tag when you are parked you may find your car gets booted.
That is the way it works in my state anyway.

Oh, don't worry... They'll track you down. That's what's happened to me in the past when I've gotten tickets in PA or NY. Whether or not your local DMV gets involved that I don't know, but no reason to have your credit score take a hit over 51 bucks.

Yea someone else said it above, eventually it'll end up in collections. My girlfriend got a ticket for some stupid moving violation in Vermont (We live in NY) about 4 years ago. It was a $75 ticket and she said fuck it I'll never be back here anyways and threw it out. This past fall we got a letter from a collection agency saying we owe $200 to Vermont Motor Vehicles. We paid it right away but American Express ended up cutting our credit limit in half due to a "major delinquency." So in short, pay it or it'll bite you in the ass somewhere down the line.

I could see a moving violation ( surprised home state didnt suspend license given resprocity agreement between states )
I would think you could fight a parking ticket on credit report. Whenever I fight anything I report I require they show where I signed for something or authorized transaction.
If vendor doesn't have a copy of the receipt it has been deleted from record

I was parked in a handicap parking space at work ( yes, I was a dumbass for doing it! ).An officer drove by and saw my truck illegally parked and stopped. My manager called me to inform of what was happening and I rushed outside! The officer asked for my DL and proof of insurance ( which had expired Jan.1,2010) .... my valid one was in my desk at home ( dumbass #2).The officer spent about 5 minutes to punch in my info and to see if I indeed had insurance ( which I told him I did.)When the officer came out of his truck and walked towards me I could see the white ticket folded up with my license and I was prepared to be .The officer told me that he was giving me a warning and told me that if he was to write a ticket for this parking violation, the fine would be $649.00 .... GULP ..... !!!!! The cop also informed me that even when a business is closed that someone can be ticketed, but the chances of that happening are pretty slim .... yea, I'm gonna take that chance! I thanked the officer and shook his hand. I don't make it a habit of parking in a handicap parking except at work .... but this close call sure cured me fast! If he had given me a ticket ..... I had no one to blame, but myself ! Note: I've never be given a ticket (speeding or otherwise)and this keeps my record perfect!

I have outstading speeding tickets in 4 states. PA, NJ, IL, and IN. No fucking way them yokels are getting my money. IF I ever get pulled over again in one of those states I'll just be like "oh shit, I mailed a check in. YOu never got it? Fuck, i'll send another one in". Fool proof!

Also one time in Madison, I was moving so I had my car illegally parked in front of my house while Im loading shit into it. And this bike parking attendant came up and starts writing a ticket. I start pleading w/ him to let me slide b/c Im moving and the closest parking lot is like a quarter mile away which would make moving all my shit out a lot harder. He blatantly just waves me away w/o even listening to me. So I crumpled up the ticket in front of him and threw it at him as he biked away. Also got some choice words in there about his job and how worthless he is. And didn't pay the ticket. Never heard nada about it. You shouldnt pay it man.

Parking tickets in Philadelphia take 3 before they can boot you. Don't pay it and the fine will escalate. States now communicate with each other so it will follow you.

Ever hear of bench warrants? If you get pulled over in those states and they issued a bench warrant rather than a warrant it straight to jail.

umgumu, you seem like a level headed decent enough guy ... how about paying it simply becasue it is the right thing to do?
Too many people spend their lives always trying to get over. Instead of wasting energy looking for angles and loop holes they should put some effort into doing the right thing.

No they don't It honestly is just baffling as to what people think others would lie about. Some of you motherfuckers are so fucking skeptical its ridiculous.
Why would the Maryland DMV give a fuck about me having speeding tickets outstanding in Pennsylvania or Indiana?? Why would my insurance find out? Not like when you get pulled over for speeding you give up your insurance info is it?
