Not saying you're a liar, just saying I think you might be misinformed about how the DMV works to keep tabs on everybody in the United States today. The Patriot Act.
Just let us know when it's time to renew your vehicle registration in Maryland....you'll see that your DL is suspended because of DMV reports from all of the states you mentioned.
But what do I know. Good luck.

umgumu, you seem like a level headed decent enough guy ... how about paying it simply becasue it is the right thing to do?
Too many people spend their lives always trying to get over. Instead of wasting energy looking for angles and loop holes they should put some effort into doing the right thing.
Sometimes I wish the overzealous parking ticket writers and overzealous traffic cops would put some effort into doing the right thing as well
That said, I understand your point Hugh and agree with you 100%.

I have outstading speeding tickets in 4 states. PA, NJ, IL, and IN. No fucking way them yokels are getting my money. IF I ever get pulled over again in one of those states I'll just be like "oh shit, I mailed a check in. YOu never got it? Fuck, i'll send another one in". Fool proof!
Except I am certain their is a bench warrant out for your arrest in all of those states. So you pay the Court costs, fines, penalties and it is probably going to be five times the cost of the ticket. Plus there is a good chance that if you get caught you have to spend at least one night in the poky! Doesn't sound fool proof to me. BOL!

Yea someone else said it above, eventually it'll end up in collections. My girlfriend got a ticket for some stupid moving violation in Vermont (We live in NY) about 4 years ago. It was a $75 ticket and she said fuck it I'll never be back here anyways and threw it out. This past fall we got a letter from a collection agency saying we owe $200 to Vermont Motor Vehicles. We paid it right away but American Express ended up cutting our credit limit in half due to a "major delinquency." So in short, pay it or it'll bite you in the ass somewhere down the line.
This is the #1 dumbest decision you can ever make....next time you think of doing something like this, please just send me the money.

I'm from NY and use to visit my gf in mass. I would get parking tickets there routinely bc there was never any parking spots and I would procede to rip the ticket up and throw it away everytime. About 18 months after the fact I got a letter in the mail saying i owed like $1400 and if i didnt pay they were gonna come take my car. lol

I see what VaughnK is saying, but what he doesn't consider is the fact that the wheels turn VERY slowly when it comes to police, court, dmv, and all that government related BS. As I said in my example back at the beginning of this thread, a similar thing happened to my girl and it took nearly 5 years for her to ever hear about it.

Due to the recession, majority of North American cities are cash strapped and I'm sure they are looking at all conceivable opportunities like out of towners who don't pay there parking tickets to generate extra income.

Hey smarty pants / dumbass
After they pull you over they will ask for your Id.
Little do you know you have an active bench warrant out for your arrest in those states.
So, It goes like this --- you are cruising down the road in Illinois and get stopped speeding --- the cops takes your license comes back to the car and says-- can you step out of the car??
He then places you in cuffs and your car gets towed.
You then have to wait to be seen by a judge and clear the matter up. Jail??? YES Jail.
Dont fuck with Government.
Fuck with your bookie, drug dealer, local dumbass, but do not fuck the Government.
They ALWAYS win

I had tickets I never paid in other states..California and New mexico...granted it was about 10 years ago, but nothing ever came from them got a bill in the mail which I didn't pay for either, and nothing from my DMV or insurance was ever on my record..I even got pulled over and let go in California afterwards...I got two of the stupid flash camera speeding tickets in germany last summer in a rental car, and cc wasn't charged...I think most dmv's follow thier own little protocol and it is quite possible the guy with 4 speeding tickets never had anything come of it....

Haha wouldn't him paying the economy hurt it worse? The $51 dollars would be spent elsewhere keeping it in the private sector to duplicate over and over...or the city of philadelphia as all/most government does is waste waste waste...I would prefer it in the private sector and philly can waste the 8% tax on the mayors lunch...

We're talking about $51. Why is that too much to pay when you're guilty of a parking violation?
Exactly what I was thinking....
Look, slug, you broke the law, now pay the fine. What amazes me is that if you're sleazy enough to avoid manning up over 50 bucks, how low would you stoop over $5k? Be a man, pay the ticket. And, next time, be a little smarter and pay for parking - that $10 parking space that you were too cheap to pay for has now cost you $50.

He is known for being a cheapskate.. Probably 1/3 of his posts that I've read in the GD over the years have something to do with getting out of paying something.
