I believe I've already provided a lot of proof that the bible is divinely inspired in my earlier posts.. and there is a lot more to boot, while it would be hard to prove the things you mention, it seems the bible has proved itself time and time again by other means, like what I've mentioned... so at that point its reasonable to believe the things that aren't especially when nothing has been disproven
To each their own for sure, like i said I'm not trying to sway anyone any one way particularly, but I do feel strongly that things should be portrayed in a more accurate fashion to us in our contemporary time and culture... let one make up there own minds, of course, but be given all the info fairly

I'll still bite though... this is regarding your statement that this isolated mammal fossil is more proof than I would have for Jesus performing miracles..
by the nature of the actions, someone performing a miracle would be tough to prove with physical evidence as the only thing left behind would be the impression on other people, which would be refleted in writing and record keeping etc...
Consider that the person, which everyone knows, were against Christ and didn't believe he was the prohpesied messiah, say in their own writings that Jesus performed miracles in front of multitudes of people etc... the thing with the person is that they didn't believe he did these things by the power of God...
This is the closest we have, and the closest you could have in this kind of situation to proof, why would defacto enemies of Christ admit and therefore lend some credence to Jesus by acknowledging the miracles and supernatural occurences, admission by the person in this case speaks to the authenticity of the miracles more strongly than anything else could.

There are other cases of contemporary societies that acknowledge in their unbias records and writings the existence of Jesus, and the general knowledge that he performed unexplainedable feats (miracles)
At the time this would have been generally known as fact, and the question was more, is this guy really from God or not?

Why would god let a small group of people in a small area know of him,and leave the rest with a fat man with big belly, a cow, totem pole etc etc. Seems he might have been prejuiced (pardon spelling). Also will i feel the fires for using his name in vain, like a bazillion times.

good question biscuit... I think a lot of people probably thing, "why did god used to speak and show himself to people directly, but none of that happens and were just supposed to believe in Jesus"
its important to point out that it isn't a mystery as to why, in the bible in either Jeremiah or Ezekiel it is written, that the people thought it best to not see god and god saw that it was good (basically means the humility in it was by all accounts pure and good) at that point in time, god says that he will not show himself or speak directly to the people anymore...
Instead he says he will raise one up from among them, and no deceit will be found on his lips etc... and he will be man's connection to god from that point on. This and a whole lot more is why Christians believe in Jesus.
So knowing that, it is also written that by the end times that the gospel will be preached to the whole entire world, basically the whole globe will be given the chance to learn about god and Jesus. Estimates right now is that over 90% of the world geographically has been exposed to christian ministry.
Also its important to point out that Christianity is by far the most popular religion worldwide and claims the most members, there are far more people who believe in Christianity than any other belief in the world.
Lastly, will you feel the fires for using the name in vain? according to the bible you wouldn't a main theme in the bible is the imperfectness of man, and the inevitability to make mistakes, but that there is a way to be forgiven and to achieve what you couldn't on your own... this is why they call the gospel the "good news"
To those who don't know the bible too much, no that anyone that preaches a brand of Christianity that focuses on your deeds and actions either good or bad, as a way to potentially allow you admittance or deny you from heaven etc... does so on their own accord and is complety opposite from the bible

Why would the people think that it is not good for them to see god, seems like that would go against human nature.

as an ultimate statement of humility, as the ultimate recognition that god is superior the them (man) and hence when God sees this as good, he acknowledges their humility and willingness to exhalt god far beyond anything else as being good and proceeds to tell them of the new way of communication between man and god that is to come.

its in line with human nature... consider many cultures in the world consider it a sign of great disrespect to look at an elder, or someone you should revere in the eye, also in many cultures its respectful to bow to someone as a sign of respect and reverence, the act of bowing causes one to turn their face toward the ground, therefore not looking at the person of respect etc...
the fact that theses cultures have basis in non-christian beliefs and still employ a connection with not looking at someone, as being a way to respect them or put them above you etc... speaks more to that nature being rooted in human nature atleast in some way

Millions of babies that have been born in Africa, have AIDS from day one...then die from compications or maybe because they eat once a week...what have they done to deserve this? Why is this happening? Why would god allow seomeone to enter this magnificent place...and have ZERO chance of enjoying/being a part of it?

Hi Taco, the question you raise is a good one as even within christianity there is some divide when it comes to these kind of things... for instance its hard to tell for sure where the line is drawn between and all knowing, loving god... and the freewill and choice of man etc..
What they can agree on is that the bible, clearly states reward for the innocent that suffer and things of that nature, also a lot of the teachings from Jesus in the bible encourage followers to help the poor and to do whatever they can for those in need etc... he says, "that which you do for the least of you, you do for me"
It is generally accepted as fact that according to the bible the world will always be rife with injustice and unfair suffering etc... until the new heavens/earth in revelation. Its important to remember that death in itself for all humans regardless of your deeds or beliefs stem back to the original sin of adam and eve and the forbidden fruit.
Lastly the bible is clear that there are things that will appear to not make since to us and our understanding of the world etc... to us it seems like a grave injustice and an indictment against god that the things you mention occur, but its fair to note we only have rational knowledge of what is here, and not what is beyond.... if the afterlife was indeed far better than life on earth... then suddenly what we see as a terrible atrocity becomes a little less clear.

Pickinvet: Explain Leviticus. This should be good.
Look, the bible was a book of parables and morals to keep israelites from eating each other. Essentially today It keeps people with a weak sense of ethics from doing certain unethical things.
As for evolution: Go ask any paleantologist about the fossil record. It is massive. There is no debate about the theory of evolution being legitimate or not. The debate is now about the details and fine tuning of the theory.
The thing that REALLY gets me is how people pick and choose what parts of the bible to believe. That and half the people who preach it never bothered to read it.

This your Judaic God Is one of 2 things........either it is Lazy and inept or calous, capricious, cruel and indifferent...........
When you tell a child the reason the child has been raped in the catholic church, or a deformed child, this is part of God's divine plan and it will be better in the afterlife, it makes you a calous, cruel and indifferent human being............what a pity we have to have people like you piss in the pool of knowledge. To have the pope tell Africa "HIV is bad, but not as bad as condoms" is grounds to declare the man insane! mentally incompetent! christians are number one in size right now and muslims 2nd but the secular/infidels are third and we have reason on our side ....we shall overcome!

What is hard to me to grasp is how a bus packed full of 10 year olds on their way to bible camp can break off from a bridge and crash into the waters below...some die from impact and the others horrifically drown to death .. both horrid ways to die... and we are just suppose to believe as christians that this had a purpose.
