How do you continue to get a 30 day free trial software package after it's expired?
There's a software package I need for work (I fully intend on buying it soon, believe it or not). But, I can't right now, so.........
The company gives a full blown, 30 day free trial. Mine expired. So, I figured, I'd just uninstall it, clean up my computer, and log on using a different URL, using different information (fictitious)
I've done this, but something is embedded in my machine some where. So, I've downloaded it again, using a different URL (from another location) entered different info, but the software still has my original info embedded in it. Therefore, it's blocking me from using it.
I have a variety of "clean-up" type programs installed that clean-up (to DOD standards): -cookies/flash cookies -temp folders -prefetch folders -run history -etc..
What am I missing? How can I get around this??
I know one of you degenerates know what's up with this, it can't be that complicated...help me out!
Thanks!!

It puts footprints in your windows registry. It is a bitch to find all of the traces it leaves behind. There is a reason you get a FULL BLOWN APPLICATION FOR 30 DAY TRIAL. You will have to wipe your drive and do a fresh reinstall of windows or download it to another computer.

It's most definitely got your information set in the Windows Registery. Be sure you are changing your IP address as they get you that way to. Have you checked in your local settings folder? Be sure you have checked the setting under my computer/folder options/show hidden files.
After that run a disc cleanup and a defrag on your system. Be sure all browsing history has been deleted from the Internet Options. I mean everything. After that is done be sure that you empty your Recycle Bin.
Let me know what program you downloaded and I can see if I can find where the files are stored. These free trials are tricky. They place things in your HKEY files and they can be hard to find sometimes. Not entirely impossible, but it could take some time. They most definitely tag your area with your IP address so they can't be duped.

Also, try going to Start/Run/ and type in msconfig.......
Once there look for the services tab. In there you should see that the free trial installed a service and it will be running on your computer. Get rid of it. Do the same in the Startup tab too.

Thanks for the responses. I was out last night, or would have responded sooner. I just turned my computer back on this morning, so I will try it again.
I've thought about the key generator stuff (and have used that before - I don't think I've ever paid for a Microsoft product, including operating systems) but this is a very obscure program.

Hey man, doing well. Just started my own business, hence the need for this software. Thanks for the advice. I called my buddy and he basically told me the same thing you did. I'll try it today. I'll send you a link to the software if I can find your email again. If not, I'll PM it to you here (although, I really don't want to do that, as I don't trust these guys).
I'll update later today....

If you intend on using it then buy it. You obviously have a need for it if the 30 day free trail is up.
This is the main reason so many software companies go belly up. In today's economy it's even tougher..by purchasing the product you might be saving someones job.

Not true. I said I needed it for my business in the first post, but that's not entirely true (I also said I intended on buying it). I have several different options for software.
The 30 day trail is up because I downloaded it before I could use it about a month ago. And it just sat in my computer, not being used. Now, I can actually use it. I'll try it for 30 days, then buy it IF I think it'll pay for itself.
