Question for the mathematician out there...
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
Is it possible to have a negative bankroll? Either you have one or you don't. How can you bet any money if you don't have a bankroll?
You started a new bankroll and you are now up to $240.

This simplifies it somewhat---just remember the l-91l is the absolute value of -91 etc.
[ ((V2 - V1) / |V1|) * 100 ]
= ((240 - -91) / |-91|) * 100
= (331 / 91) * 100
= 3.637363 * 100
= 363.7363% change
= 363.7363% increase

0 to 91 two turn(200%)
91 to 182 three turn(300%)
182 to your current number
Three full turnarounds =300%
then calculate the change. 58/91=64%
364%
Don't mess around with the crazy equations, you'll drive yourself crazy. Do it my way and fail algebra even though you got the same answer in a third of the time and don't have to remember the crazy equation.

I thought the response would be something like "That's impossible to figure out. It's like going from zero to 100."
Again, good stuff guys. When I get to $5,000 I'll come back just to get a pat on the back.

like anyone can even know that
like anyone can even know that
To further point out how ridiculous the former computations were:
had you started at -50, these guys would have quoted you a higher %.

OMG, this is still going on?
How does one have a NEGATIVE bankroll? What did he bet with to get to $240? Once your bank roll goes to $0 you have NO MORE BANKROLL. Therefore, you start a new one with whatever you make your next initial bet with.....jeez!
By the way. There are 3 kinds of lies in this world: lies, damned lies, and statistics.

My bookie never collects from me until I get down around -200. Then we'll settle up. Same goes for if I'm up. We're not gonna meet if I'm up $50. We'll wait til I get around $200.

I think you are missing the point. Yes its possible to be -91 on the ledger if you are using a bookie. Its called line of credit. But Steel why is this information even remotely important to you.
Just curious that's all. I'm sure all of us think of things and think, "I wonder how you would figure that?"

Decent efforts but incorrect. Suppose you went from $5 to $240, your return would have been 4800%, and you dug yourself out of a deeper hole, so in theory your return was greater than in the first case. The -$91 is important to establish how much you increased the balance of your account, but it is in no way your basis (meaning that it is not the denominator in the computation). Those efforts were just silly. To make a meaningful computation, one would have to know your average stake.
To further point out how ridiculous the former computations were:

Huh? Obviously he was asking mathmatically. Sure you can do it in your head like one guy mentioned if you have the understanding of it, with most standard math. But I took the formula right from a calculator site to show him how it was done---converting the negative to absolute, etc. All you are you doing is confusing the issue. Like the folks that don't understand where the missing dollar in the old riddle went. Or why when you take 10% from 100 then add 10% to 90...etc.etc. Average stake had nothing to do with his question, nor was it inferred.

What does doing it in your head or on a calculator or with a missing dollar have to do with anything??
