I think the California Judicial system and LAPD might have had a hand in that. Obviously the scumbags that participated in damn near burning the city down had a slight hand in it too.

So this is justified then?

Slovak we're long time friends here but I just can't agree with ya on that.
Have lived in LA for 25+ years and actually covered that story in '91 for Telemundo. Beating a man that severely is pretty awful. Police procedure was lost, gone and out of control in my opinion. To this day the subject is brought up with any vet LAPD officer and he'll do one of two things. Agree it was dispicable or not talk about it.

Yes I agree, but only in a 3rd world country. Los Angeles police officers handled criminals far beyond this man. Beating them within an inch of their life is NOT civilized. It is savagry Those particular officers were completely out of control and they were ultimately protected by the judge. Thank criste that never happens again in this great city.

Well it may solve a lot of problems but we live in a civilized country and that isn't tolerable. That was the most atrocious display of brutality ever caught on tape. Took LA right back to 1969 and still, the effects linger among races to this day.

People get cracked out and run every day. If LAPD were to handle them in that manner instead of SOP this would be fairly close to a Somolian type society.

other than the uniform no difference from this beating.
so id say karma for him
July 27, 1987: According to a complaint filed by his wife, King beat her while she was sleeping, then dragged her outside the house and beat her again. King was charged with battery and pleaded "no contest." He was placed on probation and ordered to obtain counseling. He never got the counseling.

He was a human being that broke the law and should have been treated according to procedure in a civilized country. That was not procedure. That was a high power a gang beating the absolute shit out of an incapacitated man.

No attempt to handcuff, no attempt to hog tie - nothing.
Horrible night here in LA.
