The bottom line Slovak, you are full of shit in your way of thinking. True enough King was not the most upstanding citizen, but to get that kind of beating is just flat out fucked up. After seeing the video, can you truely justify the police beating him like that?  If someone in your family had the same exact police record/history as Rodney had, and that happened to them would you feel the same way? I don't think so.

No, the riots happened because no charges were brought against the police. That's why the riots started. Police all across the US beat people often, but we never hear anything about it. If King's beating was'nt video taped we would'nt have known anything about it.

A question for you Slovak: If those policemen knew they were being taped, do you think they would have continued to beat him like that?

and I'm trashed for an idea for LA to have a rembrance in honor of all fallen.

Rodney King got a second chance in life and obviously shit it away, but he had no business being beaten, regardless of what he said to the cops that night.  Just handcuff him, put him in the back seat of the cruiser, and let the courts take over.

Honoring Rodney seems like a knee-jerk reaction to me.  But if you are going to do that as a healing process, also honor Reginald Denny and the brave black guys who came to his defense. 

Also, have the head of the LAPD make a sincere public apology for their brutal actions that evening.

I'm not honoring Rodney, I'm just saying he didn't deserve a beating like that.
