This has been the most ridiculous response ever. It shows what kind of a world we live in. Everything that has been cancelled was completely unnecessary. All the people that suffer from this, from sportsbook workers, to restaurants and bars, and their employees and everyone else affected economically was given no consideration whatsoever.
Unconscionable.
One player tests postive for a virus, and the whole sports world reacts like panic-stricken freaks. Gobert has the virus!
Shut everything down!
Do we hear any updates on his condition or what effect this is having on his health? NOTHING. Why? Because to then say that the effect on him is very little wouldn't feed the agenda. Keep everybody in panic mode.
I walk into Wal-Mart and the toilet paper aisle is EMPTY. The masses act like cattle. So easily controlled. Create a false hype, put out a headline, and there they go like wild animals.
Reprehensible.
The NCAA governing body just ripped the hearts out of all these athletes in all these sports, especially basketball. To have a team like Boston who just won their conference tourney; they're sky high to go to the Tourney and the very next day to pull the rug out from under them is horrible, horrible treatment. But of course we're told that "this is in everybody's best interest" is freaking mind control garbage. No one is allowed to think for themselves.
The good (subserviant) {definition: prepared to obey others unquestioningly.} citizen now must say: "Let's let the people in power make all the choices for us as to what we can and can't do, because they know best."
I like guys like Jay Bilas and Dick Vitale in regards to basketball commentary, but when it comes to this issue they're just ignoramuses repeating the party line, and their opinions are worthless, because they're just robots.

NONE of these postponements or cancellations should have happened. Here is an example to watch: The first adjustment the NCAA made was to hold the tourn. without fans; but no, that wasn't good enough. Nebraska and Iowa state high school basketball tourneys are still playing without fans. The actions of the NCAA said in effect that to even hold the Tourney w/o fans was far too risky and would probably result in people dying. Watch the news in Iowa and Nebraska and see how many people die or become ill from holding these tournaments. I'd be shocked if there was ANY follow up to this whatsoever.
Seriously, this is all FKING ridiculous. Far too many people want to let the people in power do all the thinking for them. If you want someone else's opinion, then go to : the peoples chemist dot com. forward slash coronavirus dash money dash maker forward slash. Here's a portion:
Coronavirus is no different. Same hysteria, different disease. It’s just much bigger thanks to a much larger world government leveraging the same business model. The fact is, there is no new risk to coronavirus, or any derivative thereof…
Right now your body is fighting off hundreds, thousands, or maybe hundreds of thousands of viral and bacterial infections, all of which are unseen. To rant and rave or be fearful about a single, fictional “threat” hyped by the media for profit reflects your ignorance, confusion, fear…or all three.
Coronavirus is akin to the flu virus and the common cold. It was discovered in the 1930s. Today, almost every animal and human is carrying it, usually in the nose. And there are many varieties, but none are of any real threat. The reported deaths are nothing more than fake news being pumped out by ad agencies worldwide, bought and paid for by Big Pharma. In reality, any death to the supposed virus is simply elderly people dying of flu, pneumonia or any other viral infection…or even not at all. The media lies.
(end of the portion)
They can take away anything they want to anytime, and the people will just lay down and take it. I used to work as a car salesman. There is a term for a customer who is an easy sale: a laydown. That's what this country is full of.

I believe that the main factor here is the social media. If you look back to the previous big infections like SARS etc., the social media wasn't big that much so everyone couldn't just spit out some fake facts and get people into panic mode so they were easier to defend against.

The current death rate of this virus is currently 7-8% in China according to the World Health Organization. Almost all victims are either elderly or physically compromised. There are literally no confirmed deaths of anyone under the age of 10. In fact the virus seems to avoid the young and healthy altogether. The confirmed death rate for those under age 70 in good condition is statistically insignificant. Much like influenza, it's simply a normal course of weeding out the old and sickly. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh because many of us still have grand parents, but it simply reflects the truth.
I'm far less concerned with this virus than I am with it's impact on the world economy. Fear Factor = Defcon 2

The flu virus blows Covid away and we're still in flu season.
But it's a matter of percentage. The flu has been around forever. Covid19 is still in it's infancy in terms of how much it has spread. And Covid kills at a higher rate.

Posts 1 thru 7 is a perfect example why Americans will be kicked in the nuts 2 weeks from now...its ignorants like these that will spread the virus unknowingly by thinking its less serious than the flu...you all should spend the next 24 hrs researching for yourselves. Italy is now dealing with massive amounts of cases affecting 20-40 year olds with significant symptoms.

Influenza resulted in 34 thousand deaths during the 2018-2019 winter season in the USA. Bear in mind that about 45% of US citizens took the flu vaccine that season. These viral diseases weed out the weak and sickly. Sorry if I piss anyone off.

Italy’s death is over 1200. S. Korea has 6000 CO-VID patients and only 35 deaths per business insider article as of March 5th. This boredom will add to the death in US.
No Gamble No Future

I believe you. Sounds like facts.
Now if such an experiment were feasible, if those same people who were infected by influenza in the 2018-2019 winter season, were replaced by covid19 instead, the death toll would be extraordinarily higher.
There's a reason for all these precautionary events taking place RIGHT NOW to curtail the spread of covid19.

People unwilling to take this seriously are the reason smarter people are closing bars and restaurants, having people work from home, closing schools and colleges and doing all they can to prevent people from having the need to go out. Two or 3 weeks of self quarantine and this might be behind us, keep ignoring it's existence and it's a lock to kill someone you know or love.
Bear the pain this spring season and just hope for a vaccine quickly because this will re-appear in the fall, if it goes away at all.

Unfortunately formulating vaccines are extremely difficult have over a 90% failure rate and can take up to 10 years to develop. Optimistically IF WE GET LUCKY, 1 year will be needed for a successful one to be developed.
