Dobermans are by far my favorite breed of dog.Growing up my grandparents always had one or two, so I was lucky enough to enjoy 3 or 4 of these dogs in my lifetime.just amazing dogs.

HAD A DOBERMAN GROWING UP

SHE WOULD SLEEP IN THE BED AND CRY UNLESS YOU PUT A PILLOW UNDER HER HEAD AND A BLANKET OVER HER BODY. SHE WOULD ALSO JUMP UP AND HIT THE DOORBELL WITH HER PAW WHEN SHE WANTED TO COME INTO THE HOUSE. THERE WAS A DOG UP THE STREET THAT MUST OF WEIGHED ONLY 10 POUNDS THAT WOULD CHASE HER HOME EVERY DAY. FUNNIEST THING TO HEAR HER YELPING AND LOOK OUT THE WINDOW AND SHE HER RUNNING DOWN THE STREET AND SEE THIS LITTLE DOG CHASING HER HOME.

not true...a dog that respects you as pack leader will never turn on you unless u beat it where it is forced to defend itself.I do wonder what made you say what you said?

have a neighbour that owns a husky and a malamute...great looking dogs.never liked dobermans,always been a german shepherd/husky person.good luck in finding a playmate for your dog.

I own a doberman, he&#x27;s the best dog ever. Does require frequent walks/exercise, so make sure you can provide that.

Nastiest dogs I&#x27;ve ever encountered were dobermans. And I&#x27;ve come across virtually every dog. Can&#x27;t speak from an owner&#x27;s perspective though.

Nastiest dogs I&#x27;ve ever encountered were German Shepards.&#xD;&#xA;I grew up around a lot of Dobes...Freaks me out how smart they can be sometimes. Amazing dogs.

The nastiest dog of all is the Dalmation...very aggressive and strong as F@ck. Definitely not a Disney kid dog.

Dobermans look intimidating, but they are one of the friendliest breeds I've come across when they have a normal owner.

My Mom told me she was walking past a doberman with me in the carriage and attacked for no reason. She took her shoe off and the dog started to bite the shoe. The owner was right behind the dog and as soon as he caught up damn near beat it to death. He put that dog to sleep.

So yes they can snap tonydan.

what i said was-they will not turn on its owner if they respect you as pack leader.Attacking strangers is a different story.

It&#x27;s really all how you raise them. I had one and she was treated very well and thought she was a lap dog. Was scared of little dogs, but you best not come in the yard and not be recognized. I would put them right there with Labs.

I have a Beagleman.  Half Doberman, Half Beagle &amp; love her to death.&#xD;&#xA;I&#x27;m told Dobermans hate the outdoors tho.

I say it&#x27;s like humans...combination of nature and nurture.  I have one friend who has a lab that is just a pain in the a$$.  And it has gone through formal training.  Not a terrible dog, but just hard headed.  I also have a friend who got a lab from a breeder who specializes in dogs with good temperaments in addition to being good hunters.  Most docile dog ever.  You just never know for SURE.  I&#x27;d go to someone who has a history of breeding dogs that are well behaved.  That and a good upbringing sure increases your chances of ending up with a dog with a good demeanor.  FYI, I have a cat that was a TURD as a kitten (he was neglected so I knew he would be a challenge).  He&#x27;s come a long way, but he still has that naughty streak that I&#x27;m guessing will never go away.

Absolutely love those dogs. Cute, great personality, character, fast, fun, smart. Rarely if ever do I see them in my neck of the woods. No idea why that is.&#xD;&#xA; Hope ya get one...I would.
