Everyone says be loyal to american car companies which is totally unamerican in principle...
The reason why American car companies can continue to put out piece of shit cars is because the ignorant american consumer will continue to buy an inferior product...
Capitalism is American and when done right will benefit the consumer... If we bought the best and most reliable product rather then trying to be "loyal", then superior foreign imports woudl win int he short term...
In reaction to this American companies would have to increase the quality of the car and we would all be driving american cars of higher quality and american cars would stand for quality... Or they would drop the price which would also help the consumer with economical cars...
But the consumer dictates what is on the market for cars and the reason that American cars have such a bad reputation is that ignorant "loyal american consumers" will continue to buy an inferior product and insist that it is better or that it is "unamerican" to do so... These are the people to blame not the car companies, they only sell us what we are willing to buy (or finance
)
I think with buying cars there are going to always be exceptions with a good american car or a bad japanese one...
So think of it like this, If 1 in 5 american cars are well made and last, a guy with that one car assumes that all american cars are like this and therefore does not see reality...
Similarly to If 4 in 5 japanese cars are well made and last, it would be erroneous to assume that all cars japanese care are this way...
But rather then doing the american thing and letting capitalism and economic logic work, we ruin our ecomony and the product with these just crazy views of loyalty...
I would bet that these american car buyers are also "pro Iraq war" which is ruining the dollar, our economy and gas prices... But to them it is more important to be "loyal, right, poor and ruined" then being "smart, economically sound, trusting in capitalism and rich"
"loyal americans" sound more like communists with their inability to question government and try to control the market and their purchase based on politics and nationalism rather then trusting economically sound capitalism in a free market which is what american freedom is really about...
It is frustrating when the republicans who are supposed to help promote free trade and capitalism have sold us out and destroyed our economy and then we have to turn to dems ot fix it? We are fucked either way...
