Tony Stewart accidentally runs over fellow competitor

Saw the video. May the dude who died RIP. He was really really really dumb to get out of his crashed up race car, walk on track and start pointing his finger. Its like he had a death wish.

Yeah. The best to his family of course but think we saw some thinning of the herd there. The weak/dumb ones usually die first. No clue what he was thinking. 

I remember when Stewart got out of his car at Bristol and threw his helmet at Kenseth.  Emotions can get out of control very quickly in racing and Stewart should realize that more than anybody. I don't think that Kevin Ward Jr. was weak or dumb, just maybe a bit too passionate. This was just a kid https://www.kevinwardracing.com/news.html , he should still be with us this morning.

Not sure what the hell he was thinking when I saw the video. My heart goes out to the guy's family.  RIP

May be a while before Tony comes back from this one. Still don't understand why that kid left his car and walked on the track.

The dude was thrown forward like a rag doll...Looks like the dude was killed instantly. The first responders didn't bother doing CPR as they knew the dude was a goner.....Next time, the dude should confront Stewart after the race. Wait, there is no next time, the dude is dead because of his stupidity.

Stewart will not be charged with anything but if you watch and listen to the video, Stewart does gun his engine right when he passes the kid.

 

I'm not saying he was trying to hit or kill him but doing that in those cards does throw the car sideways (this is a well-known fact by those racers I've read on many sites), and that is how this kid got clipped.

 

Just sayin'...

 

He shouldn't have gotten out of the car but Stewart didn't have to gun it. That's all...

Scalabrine i 100% percent agree with ya every other car that passed him clearly saw him and ward was pointing at stewart he clearly saw dude pointing at him what i think happen was stewart wasn't gonna let a 20 year old kid show up a 3 time Nascar champion up you can here him gun it look how fast he was going by compared to all the other ones  agreed though he shouldnt of came on track like that but still.......?

I have seen the video a few times now.  I can see why the guy was ticked off at Stewart, but walking about into the middle of the track while cars are moving is about as dumb as you can get.  No way do I think Stewart was trying to kill him, but I bet Stewart sped up hoping to kick some dirt up on this guy for being an idiot.  Instead he slid and the guy gets run over and the end result is death. 

dogga from what i read from a guy that was near tony stewarts garage said when he came back to his garage he told them to change hes back right tire and put a left tire on

Fine and/or suspension for anyone who gets out of their car at any level.  LONG overdue. There is plenty of time after the race to behave like a jacka$$.  

Yup bad scene all the way around. But its hard to argue. everyone knows  Stewart has been on the edge for years, only a matter of time for him..what comes around goes around. In his heart Tony knows what he did and Karma has a way of evening the scores eventually. This may lead to early retirement.

I know nothing about racing but did hear today by a few different people in the know that with these types of cars steering is done for the most part with the throttle.  Stupid for guy to get out of car but that doesnt make this any less tragic.

I honestly think he doesn't care if he killed him. He's that kind of individual.

The wreck happened coming out of a turn. So once out and walking backwards, he was basically in the worst spot imaginable. He almost got hit by 2 other cars.

If hes in his car or walks to the middle and throws his helmet hes still alive. The 1st thing you learn as a kid is to look both ways and not play in the street when cars are coming. He was trying to act like a bigshot.

The video clearly shows Stewart swerving into the guy on the track.  DA needs to look at this and issue manslaughter charges

Its a dirt track. Those cars drift, especially coming out a of a turn. 

Guy knew exactly what he was doing, got out of his car, walked to the middle of a race track (with cars still flying around it) intentionally and got smoked by one and is no longer alive.

What part of that doesn't make sense?

The guy made a piss poor decision and payed for it with his life. Dude wins a Darwin award imo...
