It isn't strictly online education, you are also required to go brick and mortar classes. There is a group requirement in every University of Phoenix class, seems to be a lot of misinformation and or jealously about online learning. Get over it because it's going to be a common thing in the near future. Online learning is here to stay.
There are very few "online universities" that are 100% online learning. University of Phoenix and Devry have both campus classes and online classes for example.

What you don't realize is that you are missing the 4 best years of your life by not attending a college. The education you receive is just not in your class or your books. Its the entire experience.

I hire a lot of people. You rank as follows: Real, Online, none....
You don't have to agree or like it but it is what it is.
From your first post... whom do you think I am more likely to hire, whom do you think is going to care more about my company:
a) The person who got themselves up at 8am and made it through a day of classes, socially interracted on campus. Experienced more than just classrooms like getting along with roommates etc
b) person so driven by laziness that they somehow have convinced themselves that going to class in their underwear is the same thing

Do you know why people who go to Ivy League schools tend to get higher paying, more sought after jobs? Two main reasons would be nepotism and networking.
If you were to interview for a job with a Fortune 500 company, and the postion for which you were applying was going to be filled by you or one other candidate who had attended Notre Dame, the chances that one of the people from that company being a Notre Dame alum is pretty good, and that person would push for "his guy", which is a form of nepotism.
As for networking ... for people who attend more prestigious colleges, they make many friends while in school. Some of those friends will get great jobs because of what was stated in the paragraph above. There are endless business opportunities created by who you know, as opposed to what yu know or where you get your degree.
Bottom line is that for most people, paying the huge tuition at a prestigious college is well worth it.

wow, are you clueless.
First of all, I wouldn't want to work for someone so out of touch with the modern age, that he thinks that people who go to school online are "lazy"....lmfao...you fool, online education is really designed for people who are ALREADY working, i:e working adults who don't have the time to go to school full-time but want to continue their education the most efficient way possible.
Online education is a godsend to people like this, and there are tens of thousands who fall into that category. I'm not talking about just 18 -20 year olds, i'm talking to people 18-60 who want to keep pursuing their educational goals for a variety of reasons.
Yes, I am am fortunate enough to be able to test in my underwear at 2AM, instead of getting up and going to class at 8AM. But this is the future of education........DEAL WITH IT, BELIEVE ME IT'S HERE TO STAY...and i'm not talking about just a handful of colleges and universities...i'm talking about EVERY MAJOR COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY...some now, some later.
Do some research and you''ll see that top-tier colleges are now offering online classes...
Welcome to the 21st Century
