I've always told myself that I would consider it a successful life if some of my actions helped make things better for my fellow human beings. He sounds like a person who definitely did.  He certainly was revered around here for the type of person he was.  

All of us degenerates will miss him.  Peace to you and your family. And it says a lot that covers meant enough to him that he made sure that we were updated on his condition.  I hope he enjoyed our "company" as much as we enjoyed his.

Very relieved to hear he went peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, and in no pain.  Will never forget you Kemosabe.

Notice how most of the guys posting in this thread have been around this neck of the woods for a long, long time. Your father jcm appeared to be a wonderful man. I will pray for you to have internal strength at this time period as I cannot imagine the hurt and pain you are going through. Losing a father, especially one like your dad, cannot be easy. You are in my thoughts and prayers jcm.

I never met the man but hearing this has me choked up. I did follow him on here and always enjoyed his jokes and insights. He was a great man and I'm glad to hear his family was by his side in his final days. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Apache made a young guy (26) like myself put things in perspective. He seemed like a humble man and was grateful for everything he had in his life…friends, family, sports, a sense of humor, and it seemed like he was thankful for each and everyday. Your dad seemed like the kind of guy that everyone in the room would benefit from by talking to him or simply being around him. I'm glad to hear he was with friends and family when his time came. I know it's a rough time for you all but try and reflect and be as positive as you can. Your dad seemed like the kind of guy that would want you all to be laughing right now…not crying. BOL

Been away & just came across this post. Very sad news. Apache's posts always made you think about the big picture in life-instead of the day to day nonsense. My condolences.

the way you can see this in a different light is that god needs a guardian angel to watch over someone and your dad is the perfect soul for the job.

Very sorry to hear about your loss jcmhou1.  He was a big part of the covers community and he will certainly be missed.  If I was ever having a crummy day, all I had to do was look for one of your fathers threads in the general forums here and it would cheer me right up!
