I was wondering if anyone here might know what are some good two-way radio/walkie talkies? I am heading up to the cottage next week and I thought they might come in handy when out on the boat fishing or just going around the area. Cell reception sucks balls around there and it's expensive.
I looked on Amazon and am little overwhelmed by all the choices. I don't really want to spend a lot of money on this, maybe $100 or something?
Anyone?

Those are a good idea. We use those up on the mountain skiing when everybody scatters all over the slopes. Don't recall the brand used but I'm sure if you go off of Amazons rating chart an reviews you'll find some good ones - not a terribly complicated piece of equipment. Range is key btw.

Depends on who you want to talk with? Amongst yourselves or reach out to others?
MOTOROLA MS355R is waterproof, floatable, and has weather bands. You can buy a pair for around $100. Depending on the terrain, you should be able to talk about 3-5 miles. They claim more, but 3-5 is what you'll get.
I prefer the old school CB radios. Lots of other people around the 40 CB channels. Truckers on channel 19. Buy a cheap CB radio and with the right tuned antenna you will sound like a million dollars. Transmission range not so good unless you set up a good base station which would be perfect for night entertainment at camp.

Goose, I'm primarily interested in just using the radio's to talk among the group. In fact, I doubt I'd use it beyond that. I've looked at some of the Motorola radio's and am leaning toward choosing one of those. I'd like a range of around 5-10 miles if possible which might even be too much.
Thanks!
