My question is, what is so hard about being compliant? I don't want to point the finger at blacks here, because white people do it too. The difference is, the cameras aren't on when a white guy is giving shitt to an officer.
But why is it this hard to be compliant with A LOT of people in the US? Why? Is there really a need to charge a police officer because they're asking you why you're pushing around and assaulting an Asian grocery store clerk? Yes, I watched the surveillance video. There was nothing "innocent" about what Michael Brown was doing just before he got shot. So now all of a sudden an officer can't investigate questionable behavior in a dangerous part of town? Isn't that the officer's job?
I'm so tired of senseless violence, protests and people not going to work to make their voice heard over a two way street argument like this. I've ran into a lot of assshole cops in my life. Terrible, disgusting, no good people. My retort is always yes sir or no sir. There is no hate and anger brewing inside of me so hot that I have to charge, yell, scream, spit and kick at an officer because he pulled me over for a broken taillight and wants me to pay a 380 dollar ticket. I get to do that in court, later on.
Could not agree more, well said. Yes sir no sir. and be on your way, if your pushing people around and being shady or even guilty of something then why would you even need to worry about being harassed? Seriously?

When you lead a kind of life that puts you in contact with cops multiple times per year, the more likely something is going to happen. Kind of like sky diving, the more you do it the more likely you are going to eventually break a bone or worse.

I could not agree more, take the month of February in which Black History should be condensed to a day like Halloween and April fools day. In doing so the children that need it most can have more time to learn to speak proper English and not have rely on guttural street Slang mixed in with a few M fer's

Yes, interacting with the cops is like skydiving.
Genius.

Let me tell you why the cops in NYC hate the mayor.. Plain and simple I lived there for 32 years .. he stopped the stop and frisk policy..
Why you ask do they cops hate that he stopped this process.. Because it killed 95 percent of their OT.. Thats why..
If you have ever been caught in a stop and frisk, no matter what you are getting arrested.. and once a cop arrests you , he is responsible for you until you get to central booking.. and if you have ever been arrested in NYC you know first hand it can take a long time ..
So when cops want of need OT they just make an arrest about 4 hours into their shift... Then they are good for at least 6 hours of OT..
It was a cost cutting move by the mayor , and the cops hate it ....

That story is from 14 years ago but I'm gonna "let that slide."
Wasn't New London, CT the city that wouldn't hire or promote the smarter white people in the police or fire depts because of Affirmative Action?
I guess we are in agreement on this one. They should have hired (and promoted) the smarter people and not have taken skin color into consideration.
The story is from 14 years ago because of the lawsuit. The federal ruling decided that police departments can disqualify applicants that score too high on an intelligence test.

Leader said this becomes a big problem with overtime shifts -- which are highly coveted for the extra pay. Higher-ups, he said, will give out overtime shifts to cops with the expectation that they will finish the day with a certain number of stop-and-frisks logged, depending on the borough and location of the precinct. "That's the condition of doing overtime...and officers enjoy this overtime. They love overtime."

Think it all started when he called to HQ after his friend got stopped and held for driving without a license. He didn't stop the policy, courts did before election. He did come out against it. Was huge driving force in his election. Don't know about them being mad about OT. Hard to take your word for it without seeing where they have said that. I think even not showing up at the horse stables was bad. It looks like his mind was already made up. Average folks simply do not like close-minded people, especially when they are in charge.

I retract that part of my statement. May be something to that. Nobody likes people messing with their money.
Still, even though he was against it, he wasn't the one that stopped it.

“He’s maligned a great police department with his claim of racial profiling,” Giuliani said during an appearance with the Republican nominee for mayor, Joe Lhota.
De Blasio has said he’ll drop the appeal if he’e elected. But lawyers for unions representing patrolmen, sergeants, detectives and captains promised to persevere.
De Blasio’s criticism of stop-and-frisk policing has been a cornerstone of his campaign. With his commanding lead in the polls, it is unlikely the appeals court decision will change the trajectory of the election.
But the decision, and Giuliani’s scathing criticism, could complicate de Blasio’s relationship with cops should he become mayor.
