---Is the only answer pleading for mercy?
If that were to happen pretty much the only thing they could do is the same thing tens of millions of civilians did in Europe and Asia after their governments implemented gun control.
Die.

Hmm, I think I’m going to have to side with the Founding Fathers on this one.

Actually, the people who founded America wrote quite extensively on the topic of tyranny. The question is, why don't you believe in the ideas upon which America was founded?
Your "what if" is not only not responsive to the topic, it isn't tangentially related.

So what happens if everyone in the country gets "free" government sponsored healthcare..
Then an asteroid hits the earth, what will happen to the people then? Will the government healthcare protect us?
Logic. It is fun, isn't it?

and the Government decided to become tyrannical like 1940 Germany's Government
happened a lot earlier in germany than the 1940's. Hitler and the NAZI party gained control of the government in 1933 and actually reversed the Weimar Republic's 1928 gun control laws BUT in 1938 they passed restricions on person and other "noniaryans" owning firearms.
which, btw, was similar to laws in American southern states on minority gun ownership.which the NRA was all in favor of during that same time in history
