Somehow, this will get twisted. How, I don't know. So hard to read empty minds. Just remember, when you play the race card, the table is full..........

It's always someone else's fault with you, why should this case be a any different. Whitey forced him to sell drugs and poison his own people, sounds like someone I would want in my community.

I don't think it was political aspirations it was called keeping their job. You're the examiner and you get a body that has suffered trauma and a spinal injury? Add to that the atmosphere there so you're probably getting pressure to make a certain call? I don't think any competent MD is going to say this wasn't murder as that's the easy call. Just say it's a homicide and put that off on the people who investigate to prove it isn't. Kinda like the DA has, if it goes forward, put it off on a jury.

You missed the entire point of Hirschfelder's statement.

You think an MD is worried about losing his job if he doesn't make the "easy call"? You are not an MD, are you? 

The cold impartiality of a coroner is just that. Impartial. It was a homicide based on the medical evidence. That's it. No political angle to use an excuse for those looking for one, such as you. Sheesh.

Me? Forgive me I think you misunderstood my point. 
You are right I am not an MD I suppose my only reference is that I have worked in and with government for years and if you truly believe an appointed official is "impartial" to outside influences or doesn't make the easy call and put it on someone else's plate I guess I admire your faith in government but I also see it's pointless to explain further.

Socio-economic backgrounds: If you can't make it better for yourself in America, it's because you're lazy not because of any disadvantage.

Dilapidated schools: 20% of my property taxes go to the schools in the urban areas, which I think is unfair but who cares, I'm rich whitey.

Militaristic policing: Most of those areas are worse than a war zone and should be patrolled as such.  Wonder why the cops roll down my street twice a week?  They never get called.

Sorry you are jaded, but MD's are held to a higher ethical standard than any politician. They may be appointed, but it does not imply an automatic loss of integrity, as you surmise from your own experiences.

I am definitely jaded. Been around this area too long not to be. I hope you're right and I'm sure some government folks do have integrity, I just rarely see it. If you're a Dr. I meant no offense; I don't know you and wasn't questioning your integrity. This particular situation is a mess I think throwing the crowd a bone was the goal and mission accomplished. 
I was unaware that half the accused were African American, who is Al Sharpton siding with on this?

i'm still trying to figure out if this case is, or has to, go to the grand jury.  the media use such careless terminology when explaining what has been done so far and what the procedure is in maryland.  one article said mosby bypassed the grand jury, which a DA is entitled to do in many states.  however, the baltimore sun, which i think is a decent paper, said there will be a grand jury.  we'll find out sooner or later but it's hard to tell the way these stories are so poorly reported.

of course, the grand jury system is largely bullshit so i wouldn't expect this case to end with the grand jury.  the prosecutor can pretty much have the grand jury do whatever he/she wants, but i guess anything is possible.

when i say the grand jury is bullshit so don't expect the case to end there, i'm not suggesting the case should end there.  i'm just saying, in the spirit of covers, the grand jury is almost always fixed for the prosecution.

I disagree. People are people and there are corrupt and dishonest people in all professions. The medical profession as a higher calling is a complete myth. Talk to the many vicodin drug addicts walking the streets. They're now looking for heroin after their pill factory physicians sold them out for quick cash until the DEA shut them down. Those physicians are responsible for more young people committing suicide than any other profession. Higher calling or higher standards ? Nonsense. It's surprising that someone like Detox isn't more angry at this group than he is at the authorities that shut down the supply. On second thought, maybe not.

I think the white officers should hang because of white privilege (and all that) and the black officers should be let off due to socio-economic factors (and all that)

Are the 3 white officers on death row yet while the black officers are writing books regarding this incident? After hearing that prosecutor on Friday sounding like a politician, "this is your time" I'm convinced the city government is fits the definition of a Banana Republic. 

So, half the cops in Baltimore are black, I'd say by June 1 all the cops will be black because what white cop would possibly put himself under this leadership and believe he'd get a fair trial if something like this happens? Why subject yourself to mob justice?
