Hey Fellas,

Tim Donaghy, who admitted to betting on NBA games that he officiated, will be interviewed by Covers.com next week.

We want to throw some heat at this guy, and we’re looking for some help from our Covers users. Tell us what question you want Donaghy to answer the most in this thread. We’ll take the three best and pose them to Donaghy.

wow covers.  why would you want to associate ourselves with one of the biggest pieces of scum ever to come from the gambling world?

Here's a question for Tim - "How do you live with yourself'?

Tim -- are you still betting on basketball? Knowing that you told everyone that you didn't make calls to manipulate games, and that instead you only used inside information as to who the referees did or did not like to base your plays on, I don't see anything that would stop you from continuing to use that inside knowledge of what certain referees' personal tendencies were to profit. If you are not betting on basketball anymore, why not?

I'd like to ask him to share some of this "insider information" that he has.  Share something that will win me money this weekend.  What I mean is, Ref A likes coach B and tries to help him win, or Ref A hates calling blocking calls, so offense should dominate this game, etc.  Give me something concrete that I can put to use immediately, not a philosophical write up on basketball betting.

Tim.  What's the lowest score you ever shot at Radley Run Golf Club?  How heavy did your betting get on the course? 


/ golf course I'm familiar with where he used to live and I'm pretty sure played with his "bookie"

I want to know how he got into gambling in the first place. His pop had a squeaky clean reputation, I want to know when he (Tim) started betting.

Tim, has your sentence affected your overall thought on Sports; Do you watch them now more as a fan or with less interest?

Who was your favorite NBA player and how much did you help him out?

i want to know the details of his knee injury while in prison...how did it happen??

Tim, Would you consider going tout along with having your own website and TV/Radio show ,even if you had handicappers working for you, you could still use your status and indeed your notoriety to be the face of this venture?

Tim, you stated that current referee Dick Bavetta likes to keep games close and not let any team keep a big lead. Is your statement based on facts? or is it based on your opinion?  In other words, did Dick tell you privately that his intention was to keep games close? or Did you make the allegation because you had a vendetta against Dick Bevetta?

Most of the questions being asked in this thread such as this one are in his book. Not trying to promote his book but I've read it

Did you bend over for the soap?

What's the most you've ever bet on a game? What game was it, and how many calls would you say you made to put the bet in your favor.

1) James Battista (sp) claims you were at best an average gambler and your inside information about referees was essentially worthless. To the point, Battista eventually only gamble on games that Donaghy officiated, not other "informational" games that Donaghy was not directly involved.

2) Is it happenstance that four NBA refs have come out of Cardinal O' Hare HS in PA, including that crook Crawford?

Do you feel that the NBA has done much to curb the epidemic of biased refereeing that you described in your book?  In the book, you constantly stated that in the past, referees were often rewarded when they should have been reprimanded.  Do you feel like that has changed at all?  Why or why not?

Tim, do you feel there are officials in other sports who fix games?  If so, what can the leagues actually do to try and prevent all of this in the future?  Is there any way that it can be prevented?

Tim, did you ever get the opportunity to sneak into the showers and see Shaq naked?

Did a player ever accuse you of fixing games during a game or immediately after one?

Has a player ever threatened or hit you because he thought you fixed a game? Was he right in the particular game?

Obviously Id like to know who..

It seems that star players such as Lebron can almost get to the FT line whenever he wants to.  some of the fouls that these guys draw when they drive the lane seem so ticky tack..but yet when other guys drive the lane, and there is a ton of contact, there is no foul called...in your opinion...are there times when a ref in his mind is pre determined to calling a foul if lets say Lebron drives to the whole....I know the art of calling fouls is not scientific, but wow, its seems so shady at times

3. what player and coach in the league, in your mind was the most intimidating and was able to sway calls their way as teh game went on
