Yes, I would label them as terrorist absolutely. I would say the line ends when they start killing innocent people at random. He had no specific target except his mother who he killed originally.

I have to agree with Slovak. everything isn't out yet BUT it appears this guy Lanza was just another completely darn nuts socially maladjusted crazy person like the Colorado movie shooter or the squirrel that shot Gabby Giffords and others in Arizona. looks like none of them had any "political agenda" or were on any kind of "Jihad".

Terrorists are normally a group of people that use "Terror" to intimidate and also primarily based on the same political beliefs or motive.
So how exactly was this guy a terrorist again? A one man gang and what was the motive for his terror?

What event in recent American history can compare with this one in terms of invoking terror in the minds of the American public, especially with children involved?

Seems to me this latest murderer is so similar to the previous ones lately in commiting mass killings. They are nerdy loners that are not very good looking, they are given drugs like ritalin or whatever very early in their lives, and anti depressants when older. They play these violent computer games incessantly that have extremely impressive graphics in the way they can shoot to kill and maim and start to believe this is reality.
Put it all together and this is a recipe to keep creating more and more numbskulls in America willing to go out and kill as many as they can innocent people just for the fun of it.

I actually think the OP is on to something...it really comes down to how we define terrorist though. On another note, I disagree with Scal more than I agree with him but it's odd to me that no one else gives him the least bit of credit when he makes a credible point.

What was his purpose of going to the school after killing his mother? He stopped at his mother then so be it he just has mental issues, but the fact that he went to the school goes way beyond just a typical murder. The fact that he went to the elementary school is where he became a terrorist. I for one don't know his motive, but even if it was as simple as he wanted others to feel his pain. He has no dict involvement with any of these kids and it was completely random.Is that not the same thing as 911 or any of the terrorist attacks that have taken place? I put what this guy did BEYOND Terrorism. Maybe that is why I am having such a hard time associating him with the typical terrorist that we all have grown accustomed to.
