North Country Fair...GP R7 MSW 1/16th Turf today....Next to last the entire race finished a closing 3rd @ 44-1 for trainer Lisa Lewis & owner Peter Brant. Jock was Junior Alvarado. If you have access, go watch this race; it was her 1st race. Breed in GB, ignored on the tote & missed by about a length. The key to me is that owner Peter Brant has some quality youngsters & is giving some to this trainer.

#7 I'm Italian...Tampa R6...another firster from GB for owner Brant & trainer Chad Brown' Camacho rides. ML is 4-1

Give it a look.

Camacho will never ride this filly again. Got pinched at the break, steadied at the quarter pole, got stuffed at the rail & ran 2nd @7/5 by a half length.

She wins next time out with a new jock.

 Zayas picks up the mount while Junior Alvarado stays @ Belmont after recovering from a bad spill on opening day there.

Interestingly, Zayas has been yanked off the Saffie Joseph filly #2 Champagne Ivy after going 0 for 5, twice as the beaten favorite but still cashing checks 5-0-3-2. 

Racing first time lasix and sold for $322,000 as a yearling, so must be some potential there.

 Her daddy, Gleneagles, won 7 of 11 which undoubtedly influenced her pricing.

There are 2 others running from my stable this week.

Friday GP Race 7 #9 Converter. Glad to see Zayas named to ride after Vasquez had the lead & hit the rail & his claim of objection against Maragh was rejected.

Friday Churchill Race 8 #3 Senora Roma. She was away a year in her last try @ Keenland. Liked her then & like her Friday.

I see Converter was claimed in the last race and is moving up in class.  Senora Roma ran a very nice race last out will look more closely at the others in the race to see if there is other speed horses in there.

By the way In Italian is running on May 8th at Belmont race 8 and this time has Irad Ortiz riding

 Didn't like Trainer Jena Antonucci losing Converter but that's the business. New trainer D'Angelo only wins @ 13%. The shorter 6F distance may be more to his liking.

Re: Senora Roma, I remember trainer Larry Rivelli saying before her last race that he expected here to run well & that she looked real good in the morning. Kind of odd she won a MSW by 11 & then went on the bench for a year until her last race when Rivelli moved her from dirt to turf.

In Italian should have won her last & will be against tougher than the Tampa Bay group in her first try. Having Irad up instead of Samy Camacho will drive down her price even further.
