Thats one of the plans they have set for Black Caviar, connections have not yet made a decision on whether she will go to Dubai or not. Only time will tell.
This week she steps up in distance to 1400m for the first time in the G1 CF Orr Stakes at Caulfield. She will be taking on a field of 12 other runners at this stage including;
Southern Speed: Last years G1 Caulfield Cup winner - who won first up from a spell a week ago
Efficient: Victoria Derby and Melbourne Cup winner

The mighty mare may surprisingly back up in the Lightning Stakes on Saturday before making it 3 weeks in a row the following week in the futurity.
If she does she will have gone up to 1400m, back to 1000m, then back out to 1400m again. It will be a very good effort if she can do that.
After such an easy win in the CF Orr Stakes, a start in the Lightning is being considered as an alternative to a track gallop. That may seem a bit audacious especially given the high quality of the Lightning field this Saturday.
The super star HAY LIST is due to return in the G1 Lightning Stakes along with Buffering, the straight course star Temple of Boom and super sprinter Foxwedge who went within a whisker of knocking off the great Sepoy last start.
She will have to be on her game because this field wont be a walk in the park

They scorched down the track and took her on the whole way but she was able to respond when asked to draw away to win by a length and a half. They stopped the clock just 0.03s outside the course record set by Special before the track surface got - well slower. Its a massive effort after backing up a week after winning the G1 1400m CF Orr.
It does put serious doubts on her backing up next week now though as she was tested so hard today. In all likelihood, it wont happen.
Now the owners will sit down and discuss whether they go to Dubai on route to Ascot or not

Does anyone know what the fastest 200m split in the US is?
Just wondering because Black Caviar broke 10 seconds for one of her splits on the weekend which was the first time a horse has ever broken the 10s in Australia and it came on a dead track!

Dont suppose you know what the track rating was? Also was that a dirt or turf course?Tried looking it up but couldnt find anything.
To run 55.5 on a dead track as an after thought to a 1400m race the week prior and run a split of sub 10s is more brilliant the more you look at it. Not to mention the Flemington track has raced slower ever since the re did the course a few years ago.
I really hope she goes to Ascot in good order.
Whats the coverage of her like for racing people in the states? When Zenyatta was going around we heard a fair bit of her down here in the 2nd half of her career

Black Caviar hitting the spelling paddock and then going to England to smack some Pommy donkeys around
Black Caviar and Hay List could go over and dominate.
Doubt Hay List would run against her again, heard McNair concede that the Lightning was as good as he could go and he'd never beat her. Still, he'd probably smack the other donkeys.

Hay List just carried the most weight ever to win a Newmarket Handicap in over 60 years. Truly the 2nd best sprinter to race in the country for decades

"Champion mare Black Caviar has drawn barrier three of 10 for her Adelaide debut in Saturday's Sportingbet Classic.
A sell-out crowd of 30,000 is expected at Morphettville Racecourse to cheer on the world's highest rated sprinter as she attempts to stretch her winning streak to 20.
Plans for Black Caviar are for two starts in Adelaide before she flies to England to take on Europe's best in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in June.
The glamour mare is the $1.05 favourite on Saturday"

It was great to see the riders from Adelaide try to take her on as well. It didnt do them any good and she just pushed them out of the way lol but it was still good to see them try to take it up to her

Next Saturday they have changed the starting time of the footie in Adelaide so footie fans can still see her race. Racing people loved Makybe Diva, Kingston Town & Gunsynd (and Phar Lap & Bernborough but before my time) but the whole nation loves Nelly!
