    G2 4YO and Up F&M 8F (Turf)

    2 WP

12/1 ml.  recency, pace, pattern, speed.  i'm taking a swing for the fences here in this race as i don't see a ton of early lick in here and a few of the pace pressers have shown that they can fade late.  i like this 2 coming 2nd off the pine and up in class into a tough race following her early career plagued by layoffs and inconsistency.  ran a 92 (new top) last out three wide both turns and bounced out of it with three sharp drills and lands here six weeks later.  needs to improve but a lightly raced filly making just her second 4YO start so possible (trainer 25% 2nd off and 19% with a 31-60 day break).  wanna see her on a fairly easy lead or just off it and then don't waste any time top of the lane just go and try to hold on late.  0.75 units.

5/1 ml.  recency, pace, pattern, distance, stamina.  gradually improving stiff here amongst other modest fellas comes in fresh and fit and ready to me.  working nicely prior to last where he ran an 83 in a one turn mile and was showing good late energy.  freshened a little since comes back with a few solid drills and looks to be heading the right way.  like the cutback from one turn mile to 7/8ths.  like his improvement on pace as well.   big field, pretty wide open, i'm giving him a shot with his combo of speed/pace/stamina in this scenario.  0.75 units.

    3rd at 7/1.  photo for 2nd.

broke sluggishly, moving very well late too much ground to make up

haven't been a big fan of his.  hasn't shown it on more than one surface.  closed well into race that was slowing down at 9F doesn't mean he can do it at 10F.  never know.  good luck.

    louisville race 8

    G2 3YO 8.5F (Turf)

    10 WP

9/2 on the tote.  recency, pace, pattern, speed, stamina.  improving fella inching his way forward i liked his last battling a guy with a shot in race 11 today.  like how he bounced out of that with two easy maintenance drills suggests to me he's doing good and fit and ready.  don't think he has to go here but want to see him prominent at the top of the lane like the gas in the tank he's shown to have so far.  moving the right way and ready i'm rolling with him bringing another solid effort here.  0.75 units.

    nyra 8

    G3 4YO and Up F&M 8.5F (Widener Turf)

    6 WP

15/1 ml.  recency, pace, speed.  not seeing a ton of early and middle zip in this one though one or two others could go but either way this 6 is capable of taking these possibly all the way up front or from just off of it.  comes in sharply off a nice spin and fig same distance with about six weeks since that and three solid drills.  jumps in class here also implying she's fit and ready.  has other races as well that show she has the tools to make this pretty competitive.  looking for her to take it to them early and make them try and get her.  0.75 units.

your call pal.  this game has tons of variance but he's certainly consistent.  i personally wouldn't play him to WP but everyone can see why/how one would single him in multi-race plays.

i haven't decided yet.  i may pass that race but i might play it as well.

Ideally if you like him you, just keep an eye on the daily double pool and see who you can get in the derby at better odds!

    churchill race 9

    3 WP

10/1 on the board.  recency, pace, speed, pattern, surface.  wire to wire or possibly gobbled up a sixteenth out.  intriguing opportunity here against this field on this surface to steal this one.  0.75 units.

not going to debate now on this.  easy to say it's an ironclad rule after that race.  plenty of examples proving otherwise.  i'm not a pletcher suck up either each race is its own set of circumstances to me.
