Works, like dosage numbers, can be argued in many different ways. Just about every trainer that saw APs work today went goo goo and ga ga over it.
I take that with a grain of salt however. Last year, CC also had similar accolades until we heard that he 'lacked energy' going into the race.
I'm guessing today, the idea was to see what kind of energy he sustained, but it is impressive that he beat Bayern at six furlongs considering Bayern is training for a mile (and Bayern earned good reviews for his work).
One other thing I took away. AP was breezing today (as opposed to a bullet). He finished the mile only 3 seconds slower than in the Derby which tells me the Derby track, at least for that race, was slow.

If he wins, I would be shocked if it was by more than a 3 lengths. He just isn't built (breeding) to dominate distance like that. Too fast and the closers will be coming, too slow and Frosted and Materiality will hang close.

The DRF writers were reporting back what the trainers were saying that were watching.
As for who they all (so-called experts) have picked, I can't remember any of them who picked them all correct. I think many actually got the Derby wrong this year. I think a lot of them were in love with Dortmund.
Here is a glossary of terms.

Rousy...time to go back and rewatch KY DERBY....FROSTY is going to be a beast down the lane as will MUTJabbi (he passes AP and still wants to run WELL past finish line)......Not thinking AP is unbeatable now...just check out the BELMONT special showing the previous TC contenders cough up the lead in last 100 yards...
I really think the forum has got it right when they say this might be too taxing of a fourth race in 8 weeks.....Just saying....
Good luck this week...
