Does anyone here bet through TVG? They just took over NJBets today. I loved the NJBets site and now I'm exploring the TVG interface. One question. I see that as of June 1 they will be charging .25 per wager. Is this standard for TVG account holders? Or is this a special FU to NJ players? I know there are ways out of it (19.95 per month or wager 2500 per month), but is this how it is for everyone? And the video isn't free either? Thanks for anyone who can give me insight.

So funny. The only thing NJ had done right in the past decade as far as the horse racing industry was the NJBets site. It took them some time, but they finally ruined that too. Tomorrow when I ship the contest at Monmouth and they look for a quote from me for the writeup I'll tell them that I can't wait to send 25 cents to the Brits everytime I place a bet. gtfo

try twinspires free video, no min.to bet free past performances for the track you bet. my 2 cents worth best site out there. also they run a lot of contests and promos as well.

TVG thinks they we are still in 1999, and they are greedily charging 25 cents per wager (capped at $19.95 per month).
Twinspires, on the other hand, is EXCELLENT for the horse player for the reasons stated above by slew. Also, you can have the funds deducted directly from your checking account, with NO fees. And they don't charge the player for bets made, but instead, encourage players to play by offering FREE handicapping tools for just making a lousy 10 cent bet at a certain track for a day.

Thanks for the info, but I can't sign up for Twinspires or anywhere else. NJ residents are not allowed to use any other site by law. I thought that might change now but apparently not. I really don't understand how this can be allowed. The only option for me to bet horses online charges me per wager. People twenty minutes away have a multitude of options though. Incredible. Nice country/state.

I was at Monmouth yesterday. I put my card in the machine, entered the PIN and it said 'Invalid'. I asked two employees what the situation was and both said 'I don't know'. When I leave the track I like to put some more money in my acct if I won. Nope. They really f'd this up bad.

Also, it appears that all the account history is wiped out. Last year I collected on some big tickets at the track. I lost about 18K through the NJBets site. I have about 20K in losing tickets at my house and planned on adding in that 18K to that to help me get back some of the taxes I paid. I did a history search on the site the other day and it said 'No history found'. I need to talk to a human today at TVG or NJbets.

Just got off the phone with a TVG rep. Crusha, you'll like this. I'm relieved.
- No charges ever for NJ residents. They said that is standard copy on their site and wasn't changed when they took in NJ bettors. He said it will be changed soon. He said absolutely no charges for betting or video streaming/replays.
- No more cards. If you want to deposit/withdraw at Monmouth/Meadowlands/Woodbridge go to any teller with your photo ID and account number/pin. They can handle it for you. You have to call them up at the call center first though. They get some info from you and set some security questions. Took less than five minutes.
- You can set up deposits through your checking account online. The first deposit is max 100, then after 7 days you get an email with a link to confirm your account. After that the limit is higher (not sure what though). With NJbets it always took 5-7 business days for deposits from you checking account to show up in your horse account. These are instant.
- The account histories will be available soon. They are waiting on NJ to make them available to import them into their database.
He also said they were told not to publicize this move. No idea why and it seems kind of stupid that they snuck it up on everyone. They also weren't totally ready obviously. Anyway, it should be ok going forward. Just need to familiarize myself with their site. Thanks to anyone who offered opinions/info.

Danno what did they say about withdrawals? Can you still withdraw at the track or do you have to wait for the check or it put in your bank acct? I liked being able to run to freehold to withdraw as im 10 min away. Tried to call the other day and wasnt in mood to hold forever. was wondering what you heard

I am a member of tvg and haven't ever had any problems love watching the show the air with the analyst and I do believe they charge .25 per wager but only up to a certain amount if that makes since, also I've never had any problems with cashing out and getting my money in about 5 business days

danno just went to monmouth today to take out 180 from my TVG account. Kinda annoying as it would probably be a pain if it is ever busy...also really annoying if I'm trying to put cash on at MP.

From what I was told you can withdraw at three locations: Monmouth, Meadowlands and Woodbridge. They also said it was fast and easy.

I am done with njbets/tvg...I live 3 miles from freehold and not going 17 miles to Monmouth to get/give $$$. I also hear they WILL CHARGE .25 a bet in near future for NJ bettors! Its a scam so darn them!!

I would drive 20-45 minutes to bet on the horses before ever putting another penny back in my TVG account.
