Going to try to get this up to .9630.  Will be a very large gain if it can get there.

    Icemantbi,

With 1,000 dollars, do you put it all into one trade or do you work with smaller amounts? How much of a return to you expect from a 1000 starting bankroll?

Done, I'm out at .9640!  Got better than what I wanted.

    Gain of 45 pips.

Starting to fall again, made the right play I think

Total gain of 67 pips today.

Ice you want to be careful of the pairs with the large spreads they move alot, its good to find the signal and see if the pair will do what you thought but it will only take being wrong once in one of those pairs and youre done.Stick to the USD pairs or smaller spreads...at least to you got a bigger roll...

Patrick as Ice said open a practice account and follow along when you get the chance......you can even look back at the thread and look at the charts to see why we made the trade...

    Patrick,
You do not put the entire amount on one trade.  The $1,000 is considered your margin.  That's the amount of room you get to play with.  With a mini account, you are trading 10,000 lots at 200:1 leverage.  So when you open a trade, you are using $50 of your margin.  You start off in the hole no matter what, because the way the brokers make money is by the spread.  You buy a currency at the higher number, but you have to sell at the lower number.  So you need the lower number to cover the pip spread to make a profi.  For example, take the EUR/USD pair.  To buy EUR you have to pay 1.3359, yet the sell price is only 1.3357.  So when you buy EUR, you start off down 2 pips.  2 pips is standard with EUR/USD, because it's the currency with the most volume.

Now once you open your position, it either goes for you or against you.  If it goes for you, and the value increases, your golden.  But if it goes against you, youl will take a loss of up to $1,000.  If your position drops your marging to $0, you get a margin call and the broker ends your trade and you end up with an empty account.  So you have to make sure you know what you are doing, and that you don't sustain a loss big enough to clean out your margin.

When you start with a $1000..each trade you make you can/should[its your $]start trading just 2 lots at a time...in a mini account pips range from $1-$2 per.so if you made a trade with 2 lots for 40 pips thats $80..

When you trade really your entire account is on the line,so if you jump in the wrong pair and it goes against you BIG its up to you to decide how much you lose..you have to see a good reason on the chart to get in

I wish all the trades were the 8 minute variety.  But as long as your up, it doesn't really matter how long it takes.
