Need you guys' input on the state of the market right now. I still consider myself to be a novice investor, and I am not a very active investor either. I have built all my positions slowly throughout the years since I was in college about 6 years ago. I am getting beat up badly right now, as I'm most of you are too. However, I keep telling myself that this is a great buying opportunity. It just seems like opportunities like this don't happen very often, and anyone with capital that is willing to suck it up for the short term can see some awesome returns down the road. For the past few months, as the market has dropped, I have continued to buy. And now, I still am looking to increase on some of my positions, amid this collapse.
Now, here is my situation. I am 26 years old, not married, and the only debt I currently have is some student loans, which is a pretty small amount. I have a very good paying job for someone my age. With so little expenses, I want to throw everything I can at this market. Now, I know that alot of you on here are saying to keep alot of cash, and my brother says the same thing who gives me most of my financial advice. But, I just feel like I am young enough to take a shot here. I think if I put everything into the market, I got a good shot at making some good money over the next several years. Now, if I am wrong and the world sinks into a economic depression, I'm thinking that my cash isn't going to be worth a whole anyways, and I probably will have many other things to worry about.
What do you guys think? If any of you are close to my age, how are gauging the current situation? What would you guys do in my situation? Thanks in advance for any input.
