Anybody have any input on buying MGM stock right now ??

I've been long on MGM since the beginning of the year. They have diversified from the casino business, building hotels around the world and selling equity positions in them to finance, while retaining the operations to charge management fees. 

At these levels I've been thinking about buying some more shares as well.  The P/E is 3.  If it hits 12 a share today I may jump back in.

Intriuging for sure, but out of the group I probably would look at a different name.

For the RISK and the upside potential I would go with LVS. The best stock to me is the one that is the safest and has held up the best, which is WYNN.

I agree with both walls and KOJA
 
I just bought some CRYP because it undervalued and has great upside as online gaming grows and just may hit the home run IF the US of A sobbers up on online gaming.
 
also think THE best gaming related stock might be IGT. solid earnings, solid financies and should be one of the first stocks to recover. haven't seen it THIS low since 2001.

Rat,

IGT getting smushed like they did after 9-11, it is a great time to step in on a good company at these levels.

wonwithhook, check out how much cash and debt that MGM has versus LVS..very shaky if cash flows slow.

KK put of shares of MGM to back his credit line to buy Ford.  If he didn't sell off the Ford stock it would have put his control of MGM in jeopardy, of which he owns about 53%.

WYNN and LVS are both solid, pure plays on Vegas and Macau.  To me the analysts are incorrectly valuing MGM based on the real estate diversity and management fees MGM is receiving, and lumping it in as a pure Vegas stock.

I punched them both up, prices look right for buying that's for sure.I'm only looking at putting 500 into 2 different stocks for now, was thinking Verizon and MGM, but I could look at IGT & LVS.
 
I'm not afraid to put my $$$ on anything Vegas, it isn't going anywhere. So maybe I buy 500 worth of all these. Do you all think MGM is that bad ???

Is the general thought,that the gaming stocks will probably go even lower as the economy worsens ? How will the election effect the market, if at all ? I'm just looking to take a chance with a few grand I have laying around, don't want to be dumb about it though. I have a pretty good amount in a 401k, but like everybody else, it is getting a beating. How about Verizon, good/bad ?? Thanks guys.

MGM and LVS both @ $10.58 now.  They continue to crater.  So tempted to buy but who wants to step in front of this train...

I think you will be OK but it might take awhile. I think the report of Macau slowing down is hurting them and WYNN right now BUT they both should recover.

I just bot 1k LVS @ 8.70 and will add IF it gets much lower.
 
don't worry, depeche2, it can go UP just as fast as it went DOWN and one or two points ain't gonna make a shit.

OODLES of shorts in LVS. 27,248,640 shares or (7.67%) of the outstanding stock.
 
btw. it hit 8 a low of 8.35 right after I bought so could have got it better

Longer term you guys are making good plays here.

LVS has a nice cash cushion and less debt than MGM and can survive without diluting.

hell, walls, IF I see IGT under $10 I'm gonna have to go long them too. new 12 month low of 10.92 intraday (with 3 hours to go) today

Their growth has really flatlined this last year (IGT) and that should have been a signal about the casino stocks, if the game provider is slowing that means their business is slowing.

They are getting near 1 times sales and their margins arent bad at all, even though they carry quite a bit of debt.

that's a "no shit Sherlock" statement. I live in Las Vegas and the traffic in the locals casinos my wife and I go to is down big time. I just think that WHEN gaming recovers OR some new venues open, IGT will be one of the FIRST to recover. their big run started in 2000 with Indian Gaming. it's also a VERY well run company. 

may take awhile BUT I can wait and I would only buy IF they had a spike down.

bot another 1k of LVS @ 8.12 close to the close. stock went 8.50 area to 8.10 in about half a minute. with almost 15 million shares looks like it could be a washout.

At these prices I could EASILY see one buying another..why not?

Long term at 10-11 IGT is a triple, if they dont get bought out or go private.
