A bow to Wall regarding Buffett...I agree with this, and the fawning CNBC does with that guy is way over the top.
WEDNESDAY PET PEEVE: Warren Buffett's most startling accomplishment has little to do with his imposing affluence or his impressive philanthropic record.
It's that he has almost single-handedly made being wealthy seem cool to the masses -- especially to the media.
The latest example of this occurred Monday, with Buffett's involvement in candy maker Mars Inc.'s $23 billion takeover of Wrigley.. The media, who have lovingly dubbed Buffett the Oracle of Omaha (yes, we're suckers for alliteration), lavished such praise on him that you would've thought he had just presided over his daughter's wedding instead of further enriching himself.
Buffett can count on kid-gloves treatment from an adoring media, in contrast to the tougher scrutiny that most top executives get.
The media should remember that Buffett doesn't do these deals for the greater good of society. He does them to make more money. He may be a hero of capitalists everywhere, but the media should give him the same kind of skeptical reception as everyone else gets

Hi all, been awhile since I've visited this forum... Was looking over my portfolio and loking to make some buys... A stock I had and sold at $38.70 in September or October with FTO (Frontier Oil) is like at a year record low at $ 24.79.
At this price I hoping to stay long , anyone else see something they like in today's market ?

Lots of these kind of companies are on the low, like VLO, FTO. I think the concern is the margins arent good for refiners like they are.
At this price I would be willing to take the gamble on FTO..
CRDC earnings looked fine to me, I was shocked they sold it off like this. The problem is until they start to generate some strong sales we are early to the game. The stock could go lower due to the low float, but I look at the product and see success. I am willing to wait it out for a long time and keep nibbling lower because I see the product as being successful once it gains acceptance.
Their revenue numbers were better than expected but R&D will keep effecting the bottom line due to the small revenues.
I didnt see a single thing wrong with the report...

I didn't sell those puts yesterday. Bought more today.
And in a stroke of genius, I sold my HANS yesterday near the close, as well as some calls. both for good profits. I will look to get back in soon. I'll resist to just jump back in now, considering it has sold of 2.5% this morning. Maybe next week when i have a better idea of market direction. the indices are all battling resistances right now. if they fail to break, we could have a few weeks of fast downward moves. especially if the "sell in may and go away" thing holds true.

i have no idea what i'm going to do. I can't believe that we have rallied this hard since march. QQQQ has rallied 18% since the march low. I am going to bet on a retracement of 3% to get my puts back in the money before may expiry, i guess. i should be able to get out at even, at least.
I hope the S&P doesn't close above 1400 though.

CROX is showing nice action this a.m. As posted earlier this wk, I think it will see 14 again by the start of summer and picked up some June 7.50 calls for 3.30 to back up my opinion.
CROX up nice today after reporting a quarterly loss but reaffirming annual earnings expectations over $1.50/share. Unfortunately I didn't wait this one out and sold the calls above for miniscule profit a couple of wks ago.
