Why would I think it’s impossible to live off of dividends? I can do basic math. 

You can live off of dividends just like you can live off of staking rewards.

ETH 2.0 is set to launch as early as July 2020 according to BitMex research. 

They’re going to have staking. 

You need a minimum of 32 ETH to stake. Although exchanges will probably offer staking in their wallets and take a %. 

According to their staking calculator, if you stake 100 ETH (currently $20k) it will pay 7.41 ETH annually (7.41%). 

Doesnt seem like much at current prices but it can get pretty substantial if ETH gets back to $1,000+. 

I think ETH is a winner in the future. 

BTC, ETH, and ADA are all pretty safe bets in my opinion. 

Sounds interesting but need all the details. Is it a new product with new pricing like that Classic vs not and how variable is that ammt, when would it change and why?

I dont think holding something for a year is worth that small benefit.

It’s the regular ETH. Ethereum is switching from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake. Almost every crypto was having a hard time scaling with Proof of Work. 

I agree that holding these things just for the staking rewards is silly but I think people will and it will lock up a lot of ETH.

The exchanges will definitely offer staking for ETH like they do for Tezos, Algo etc. And they will take a percentage. If ETH staking pays 7.5% annually they’ll give people 5.5% annually or something like that — just like they do for Tezos. 

And just like with Tezos, you’ll get staking rewards no matter how short term you hold them. Can hold for 1 week and you’ll get 1/52 of 5.5%.

Don't forget to short GOOG. I will be glad to send you a list of 30 plus holdings to short. Continue thinking small Detox!

When Cardano releases their mainnet (Shelley) I think they’ll be listed on Coinbase along with staking. This should happen within the next 2 or 3 months. 

I think Cardano will be #3 on CoinMarketCap by the end of 2021. 

#3 is currently Ripple with a market cap of $10 billion. Cardano is #13 with a market cap of $1.29 billion.

Regardless of Wall urging an end to the nonsense, you keep it up. I'm sorry that you don't believe that anyone on an investment forum can actually amass wealth, retire early and enjoy living off of dividends. 

Conversely, playing short term puts on HD (it's going to 80 right?) without even understanding what you are doing is not the way to amass wealth. Do some research, study and make your mind large. Expand your mind and you have a chance to build the wealth you dream of.

It is his thread, so since you choose to enter and he is the original author then that choice is yours. There are many threads in the politics forum that are similar, people who want to pick a fight can avoid by not going into a thread versus reply in a way that is against the rules.

Ive had to request this many times in the past and maybe that is the case here, sometimes people cannot post around and to each other and avoid doing so because it is the best decision. If you both cant reply to each other with a minimal degree of respect then that is usually what we suggest.

I get mega annoyed with several people but keeping replies from being personal and attacking is something we require from every member.
